Chapter 1

**Nadya**
I was sitting on my bed getting my twin sisters ready for school. I share a room with my twin sisters. My Mom was at work, Hi my name is Nadya Simone I stay in the Bronx in a small two bedroom apartment. I am eighteen a senior. It's in the middle of January the twenty first and trust me it's cold out here but anyways life for me isn't like the average normal eighteen year old, my mom works on the corner and doesn't make any good money so I work two jobs one is at a diner and the other is at a corner store. Both of my paychecks be good so I don't complain,my twin sisters Nadie and Nadine are five years old I became their mother because our so called mother wasn't going to take care of them. I take them to Doctor appointment, feed and put clothes on they back, I even pay bills so yeah I'm their mother. Usually I go to school them too work while my Aunt T watches the girls. When I got the girls ready I got myself ready, I brushed my hair into a ponytail and got my backpack.

Nadine-"Mama I am hungry"

Nadya-"Alright. You two go sit at the table I'm coming"

They ran, I laughed. I am so ready to graduate and move on with my life but I can't if I go off to college and leave them here there isn't no telling what would happen to them. You see Nadie and Nadine both call me mama and call our mom by her first name which is Nora they only call her that because I do. I went in the kitchen and fixed them some cereal and muffins with grape juice

Nadya-"Please don't get dirty"

They both said "We want" in a unison my phone started ringing it was my best friend Marissa I answered.
**Phone Conversation**
Bestie💖✨-"Good Morning my big ball of sunshine"

Nadya-"Good morning best friend"

Bestie💖✨-"Say it with your heart. Now what are you doing"

Nadya-"Feeding the girls what about you"

Bestie💖✨-"On my way to get you
Tell the girls I said hey"

Nadya-"Alright. Let me call you back I'm about to take the girls to his stop"

Bestie💖✨-"Okay bestie"
**Hanged up**

Nadya-"Marissa Said hey you two. Come on"

They put they backpacks on. I got my things and we walked out. Nora was coming in.

Nora-"Good Morning. Where y'all going"

Nadya-"The same place we always go"

Nora-"Don't get smart you fat hoe"

I rolled my eye's. She ask questions she already know the answer too. We got outside waiting for the girls school bus to come

Nadie-"Mama is it going to snow"

Nadya-"I don't know yet. Maybe it will"

Nadine-"It don't need to. I hate the cold it need to be summer"

I laughed. They might be twins but they personality's are totally different, the girls bus pulled up

Nadya-"Alright. Bye I love y'all be good and here y'all lunch money"

We have each other hug's and kisses they got on the bus. Marissa pulled up in her 2015 Chevy Malibu, when she stopped I got in the front.

Marissa-"Hey bestie"

Nadya-"Hey girl"

When I noticed someone was in the backseat o turned around it was Marissa boyfriend D'quan they been together since when were in ninth grade. He looked mad

Nadya-"Hey D'quan why the mad face"

D'quan-"What's up. Man Marissa made me sit in the back"
