Can't sleep love

Later that night dan lay awake. He was Sharing Phil's queen sized bed.
Dan couldn't sleep, not for the life of him.
He tossed and turned and muttered and cursed.
He was frustrated.
There was Not only that, but the fact he had some strange bruises all over his legs and arms. He had only hit them lightly, in a game of hide and seek in Phil's garden.
Which he got quite exhausted by.

Sleep!
We're Dans only thoughts.
He was at the point of crying. It was already 4:00 am and he hadn't been able to sleep since 1.
Besides,tossing and turning so much made his head ache.

When dan finally managed to sleep, it was 6:00 am.
His dreams were bleak and boring, grey. 
The only interesting part of the dream was when he came across a dead body, his mother.
He had the same dream most nights.
He would find his mother in different places. A car park, abandoned buildings, school, church, the woods. All places scary, especially school.
In that dream he would always carry a bright red rose, for no particular reason, it was laced onto his jacket.

The morning alarm blared at the two sleepy boys to wake up.
The noise shuddered in Dans brain, made him almost sick.
"Morning dan!" Phil said cheerily, as if he had a perfect sleep, which he had.
"Phil I don't feel well" dan said.

Before passing out cold.
"Dan?!" Phil yelped, surprised and extremely worried.
Dan looked horrible. He had pale skin, and what looked to be dry blood all over his face, evidence from a nose bleed earlier in the night.

When dan came to, it was midday.
Phil was looking over him.
"Dan oh my god" he said in relief.
"Phil" dan cried in pain.

Something was happening to dan, something horrible and dangerous.
A disease or something as devious as they come.
This was not normal, this was not healthy.
They could only help but to hope it wasn't what they were both secretly suspecting.
