Dan sat at his wooden desk in the back of the classroom. He liked where he sat, right next to the massive window that overlooked the city. Of course dan didn't sit with his friends, he didn't have any. He thought that if he didn't make friends he wouldn't end up having to deal with the pain of losing them.

Dan wasn't paying an ounce of attention to the math teacher in front of the class, whom was probably talking about fractions. Dan was however, paying attention to the bleak grey sky.
With a head balanced in his hand, he stared at his favourite colour.
The sky was grey, it bled white clouds and shades of grey no body could blend with paint.
His class was on the top floor of the complex, so he had a brilliant view.

Dan felt satisfied when he looked at the sky. It was an escape from his past, the stressful classes, in fact it was an escape from his thoughts.
The teacher never really gave a shit about Dan. He would always leave him be at the back corner, in a row of his own. Ignore him on the rare occasion he put his hand up, never even gave him work. Dan guessed he was just too stupid.

Dans eyes skimmed away from the sky and down upon a tall boy in the middle of the field. He was far away but dan could make out jet black hair and piercing blue eyes. The boy had thick black lenses on. He was kinda cute dan thought.
Dan then noticed the look of terror on the boys face.
He then sees the blood stained shirt.
The bloody nose.
The bruised jaw.

Dan immediately throws his hand into the the air.
"Daniel?" The teacher asked, surprised glued to his expression.
"I need to go to the bathroom" dan says quietly. He hated speaking in front of the class.
"Alright, go" the teacher says, surprise melting off of his face, back to his dead toned expression.

Dan quietly left his desk and opened the classroom door. Once he exited the class his thoughts were mainly just panic.
Why am I leaving to talk to a boy I don't know?
I don't even talk to people!
What if he thinks I'm weird for being concerned?

These thoughts quickly passed through his head but he shrugged them off.
He lurched down the steps two by two and made it to the ground floor. He ran through the corridor and was confronted by the large green field. It was raining.

By now the boy had backed against a wall, hidden from sight. Dan could see his leg sticking out. He walked over very cautiously.
"Erm hello?" Dan practically squeaked.
The pale boy looked up in horror, panic setting on his face.
"I didn't mean to scare you I'm sorry!" Dan tried to console the stranger. The Dark haired boy was gripping his rib, he looked pretty bad.
"It's okay, I thought you were someone else" the guy reassures, realising that dan didn't mean any harm
"Oh um I'm dan" Dan managed to say, stuttering a little.
"Hi I'm phil"
Dan swore that through the rain drops on his pale face, Phil was crying.
