Cadens's pov
I sat in the library with my favorite book - The Fault in our star. Dad and I had been traveling together for about a week now and yet he hadn't scanned me - but I had. It turned out that the cancer in the chest was only my second heart growing but the cancer in the lungs - that was real. My theory is that there was a malfunction during my last regeneration - well this is only my second body so I don't have that much to brag about.
I laid down in the sofa and where just about to read about what a douche Peter Van Houten was for the fifty-seventh time when I heard footsteps. "Cadence are you in here?" I still did not tear my eyes from the wonderfull book I was holding in my hands. I responded with a "Mhm.". I could hear a soft chuckle coming from in front of me. Then my father sat down on the sofa and placed my legs in his lap. "How many times have you read that book?" I looked up at him to see him smiling down at me. "I mean you must find it boring at some point - don't you want to explore more, exciting books?". I took of my glasses and looked at him. "You may not know this but John Green is a genius - just like the TARDIS. It's like you would get bored of the TARDIS just because you'v hade her for to long. I love this book to bits and every time I read it I get new theories that takes me on new adventures. Plus, John Green knows how to write about cancer. It isn't like any old cancer book - it's pure genious! The characters don't just live and die - they live life to the max and then they move on. They love and hate. They have gotten used to the though of dying but still they live life like any other teenager. You gotta read it sometime." I placed my glasses on my nose again as I continued reading. Then I felt someone rip the book out of my hands. "Hey!" Of course it was dad - he then started reading out loud. "Of course, I hoped that Peter Van Houten would be sane, but the world is not a grant wishing factory. " I snatched the book out of his hands before he could continue. "Not now - and by the way - you'v got to read it from the beginning." I chuckled lightly as I closed the book and placed it on the table next to me. "So, how are you feeling?" I looked up at him - feeling a little bit shocked if I say so. "I feel fine. I mean, I'm with you, in the TARDIS, doing what I love - it couldn't be better!" He looked at me with a seriousness in his eyes. "You know how I mean - did it disappear when you became you again?" I looked him in the eyes - I simply can't lie to him but at the same time I don't want to hurt him. "Yeah, I'm fine. Now let's go get something in the kitchen. I am absolutely starving!" I felt a hand on my arm as dad pulled me down to the sofa when I was trying to stand up. I winced in pain since I still had the deep wound there that I got from a bully that still was a bit sore. "Are you okay? Did I hurt you?" asked dad as he tried to get eye contact with me once my but was on the sofa again. "Yeah, why wouldn't I be? It's just a little wound - that's all. It just dosn't want to heal." Dad rolled up my sleeve and looked at the big wound covering my arm along with the other cuts. The scar was big and sore. I had gotten it from when a kid at school took a knife and basically stabbed me and ripped my skin open. The wound was about as long as my underarm.
Dad looked furious and sad at the same time. "I should have been there for you C" He still didn't look at me. "Hey, look at me - look into my eyes." He lifted his head and looked in to my green orbs. "You did a terrific job and you know it. You did the right thing when you left me on earth. Otherwise I would probably be dead by now." He smiled sadly. I snatched my arm out of his grasp as I clasped my hands together. "So - we being to only two timelords left in the universe - we'v got to live! What about a picknick in the apple grass in New New york and then a trip to somewhere amazing? Eh?" I stood up abdruptly and reached out my hand for dad to take - the smile never leaving my face. "Shall we?" He started chuckling and al I could do was giggle to my own silliness. He stood up and linked my arm with his. "We shall."
Timeskip.
The TARDIS came to a jolt as it stopped - dad and I had decided to go to new, new, new , new earth to eat some lunch - but as you may know, the TARDIS basically does what ever she pleases. Dad checked the scanner and wrinkled his nose "Oh not again, can't we ever go where we want?" I walked up to him. We where in London 2009. Dad picked me up January 2016 so that means that the old me is still here - as a child. "That must mean that there's something wrong around here." I looked at dad - he had a huge grin plasterd on his face. I couldn't help but chuckle at his silliness. He took my hand and dragged me to the door. We ran out in to the streets of London "I remember this day" said I as dad looked at me questionalbly. "You remember this day? How come?" I continued looking up at the sky "I lived here you know - the old version of me still does. This was before I met you." I could hear a faint 'ah' coming from my fathers lips.
I stepped in to the TARDIS and got my coat. "Well, let's go then!" I walked of with my hands in my pockets - father following close behind me. I already knew what the problem here was.
"There's an office over there - the building is named after the production. It's called ADIPOSE industries. They create fat-reducing pills and that's al I can tell you. " I turn on my heel and look dad in the eye. "I can't go with you any longer because the would mess up the timeline. I have other facilities to attend to. I already know practically everything that's going to happend. Just go over there and do some research - I promise you that you will find something interesting", I walked forward and kissed my father on the cheek. "Gotta run. Take care - I'll see you in a bit.".
I looked him in the eye "What are you up to C?" I smiled at him. "Oh just, you know - wandering about. That's all." I grinned before I walked away and turned around a corner. I then looked back at dad - he was now officailly out of sight. I took my TARDIS key and ran over to the TARDIS. Once I was inside the TARDIS i hung my coat on one of the branches and walked over to the console. "Well, my friend - it seems like we are going to a destination that neither you and I will enjoy. We are going to the past. Al this to save one man - well, he isn't a ordinary man. Promise me that you will take care of him once I'm gone?" I held on to the console and looked up at the ceiling. The TARDIS hummed as an answer. "I know you will. Well, to hell we go." I flipped the switches and we where of. We where going to make sure that the reason that my father left me leaves him for good. We are going to the monsters that has been hunting me since I was born. We are going to the Scaro.
