He could hear the shower running from her bathroom upstairs, and her mother, still a little drunk from the previous nights antics, stumbling around downstairs. Stefan easily jumped up onto the roof, and slid into her bedroom through the open window.

Hope exited the bathroom, a towel wrapped around her body and another in her hand which she had been using to partially dry her blonde hair. Her eyebrows furrowed together in confusion when she saw the white envelope on her bed, her name written in cursive on the front. Hope put the envelope back down on the bed and quickly got dressed.

She opened up the crisp white envelope and pulled a letter form inside.

Hope, it began as they usually did.

I've decided to stop pretending not to feel. You're the only one I have ever wanted, and I will wait for you as long as I have to.

Love, Stefan.

Hope dropped the letter, not caring where it landed. She quickly slipped on her worn out converse and ran out of her room, down the stairs and towards the front door.

"Hope, sweetie?" Her mother called. "Where are you going?"

"To do what I should've done a long time ago!" The blonde called back, swinging the door open and not bothering to shut it on her way out.

She ran down the street, her thin legs going as fast as they could. She kept running until she saw his leather jacket clad body walking down the street.

"Stefan!" Hope yelled, the younger Salvatore whipped around, a smile instantly growing on his lips as his eyes landed on her. "Stefan, wait!"

She jumped up, wrapping her legs around his torso, her cold hands brought his face down and their lips connected. It was a cliche, but she could've sworn she felt sparks fly.

"I guess you didn't have to wait too long, huh?" Hope laughed and pulled away.

Stefan kissed her once more, both of them with big grins on their faces. Her set her down on the ground and she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.

"I think," she grabbed one of his large hands and they began to walk down the street together, "that you're the only one I have ever wanted, too."
