It's been 11 years since Chrissy's life changed beyond recognition. Since her narrow escape from Oren's forces, she joined a small group of surviving Octolings from the great tragedy that occurred, and the events that followed would be something she never expected. It was extremely difficult for Spyke to sneak this little one out of that area, but he eventually did and safely hid her from the tragedy that was happening under them...
----------------------------------------------Chrissy didn't remember what happened after she saw the Octolings pouring out of the truck. She found herself in a small bed, with a glaring light above her. She found it difficult to even open her eyes
"Mama...? Are you here?" She reached out to a shadowy figure across the room
"I am sorry Little one... I am not your mother..."
Chrissy quickly opened her eyes in fright
"W-...who are you," she said, fear-shaking her voice.
"My name is Spyke. Now keep still, you need to rest."
"S-...Spyke...Spyke!" She smiled.
"Where are my parents Spyke?"
Spyke slowly looked down to his feet, his voice cracking with emotion. "They...I have no idea..."
Chrissy looked at Spyke and held her sadness in
" I am sure my parents are fine!" She said with a certain confidence
Spyke slowly reached out to Chrissy's head and petted her. He realized that there was a purple flower on her head, finding that odd, he wanted to remove it from her short, purple octo-tentacles, when she slapped his arm away.
"Please, that flower is from my mama!"
"Okay...sorry..." he said softly
Chrissy slowly looked around the dark, unfamiliar room. "Where is this place?"
"It's a safe place with other Octolings, it's a secret dome that was built by an independent small group of, well, Octolings!"
Spyke stood up from the wooden chair that was beside Chrissy's bed and slowly walked to the door
"Someone will bring you breakfast, I can't stay longer..."
"W-Wait...!"
Chrissy got out of bed and hugged Spyke.
" I hope I will see you soon..."
Spyke smiled, which is rare for him.
"We will..."
Spyke put Chrissy back inside her bed and left, closing the door behind him. He wished to himself in his head that she would survive.
"See you later, Little one."
Chrissy rested and played with the toys that were in her room during the morning, it's the next day after the events that lead to this new path that her life is taking.
----------------------------------------------Eleven years later...
"Stop it's mine!" Chrissy snapped, as she took the last slice of pizza from the plate
"Okay, okay fine! Not fair..." Eric muffled, with the crust in his mouth
Trevor, Mona, and Eric were the 3 other Octolings living with Chrissy inside the secret dome. She has grown with them since. Sadly the Octoling who built this dome vanished a week before Chrissy's arrival, Ivor. Little is known about Ivor to anyone but Trevor since he is his son.
"Calm down we could always make another!" Mona said, rolling her eyes at the immaturity of her friends.
"Oh yeah, you want to go steal another? Be my guest." Trevor sighed
"Well there's always Inkopolis" Eric muttered
"Are you fucking crazy?! There are more soldiers there than ever lately!" Mona was annoyed at the suggestion.
"It's not like they would always guard it...citizens would be scared if they would...." Eric said, trying to defend his idea.
"But it's not like we're a part of an army, We could easily sneak around them like usual" Trevor said, with an excited gleam in his eyes
"Still... that doesn't change that our dome is close to Inkopolis...less than 30 minutes away by walking through the woods..." Chrissy pointed out
"Since Eric is so inclined to go, he should go with someone else..." Trevor proposed, staring right at Chrissy
Usually, each of them takes turns raiding Inkopolis for any needed resources. However, Eric and Chrissy end up going most of the time, as Mona and Trevor are not the sneakiest of the 4 of them.
"Come on Chrissy, we always come out just fine!" Eric pointed out to her
Chrissy sighed and stood up, walking towards her room to prepare for her departure to the newly built city. It only has been 20 years since Inkopolis was created. It is only composed of the Plaza section, but expensive expansion plans were initiated by the government, which Chrissy found unnecessary. Always bigger and never enough She thought about Inklings while she was equipping herself with the necessary equipment in her room.
"Sorry for letting you go again" Mona quickly told Chrissy, as she entered her room
Chrissy just smirked at her and equipped her Octoshot to her back. She hugged her friend and was ready to leave for the dome's ladder when Mona grabbed her arm, preventing her from leaving.
"Eric loves going with you more than me, I hope you know that" She whispered to Chrissy
Chrissy nodded and left for the ladder, rejoining Eric on her way. He smiled at her as they left their dome and said goodbye to Trevor. Any trip to Inkopolis could be their last, so they promised to sacrifice their lives before the ones of those hidden in the dome. Although, Chrissy knew that Eric could go against that order if she didn't go with him since his feelings for her were obvious. He would put the others in danger if he knew I was taken Was what she kept telling herself in her reasoning for always following him to what could be their fall...
