Tears started falling from Chrissy's face, as she noticed that the kids they had heard while going down the stairs were inklings AND octolings playing together in a field of grass and flowers, that were brought inside the underground building.
"Are you okay Chrissy?" Slappy softly asked her, as he placed his hand on her shoulder, reminding her that they are here
"This is just too beautiful to be true, inklings and octolings together..." She answered him in a very low and soft voice, as she was still looking around her
Slappy thought the same as her but didn't tell her since he, also, as never came in here before
"Let's go to my house now!" Jenny happily told the 2 of them, as she saw they were both gazing off into the dome, impressed
As Jenny started walking, shortly after, Chrissy and Slappy started following her, not knowing where to go since it was both of them their first visit. The bricked path that was ahead of them lead to a beautiful fountain, far in the distance, circled with many different buildings. One of them stood out to Chrissy and Slappy, it was a giant metallic-looking tower going all the way up to the highest point of the dome from its center.
"It's where the leaders of this operation reunite to plan everything if you wondered," Jenny told them both when she noticed they were staring at it
The group circled left from the fountain to take the path that leads to Jenny's house, as they did so, Chrissy and Slappy noticed they were about to walk past an odd-looking structure that looked like a giant crystal.
"What is that giant crystal-looking thing we just passed?" Chrissy asked Jenny, hoping that she would have the answer to her curiosity
"To be honest with you Chrissy I don't know, none of us do actually!" Jenny told her that it wasn't as big of a deal as Chrissy was making it to be
"That's pretty weird none the less" Slappy added into their conversation, worried about how it didn't seem to matter to Jenny that a giant unknown crystal was standing inside a dome full of kids
"It's not dangerous at all, we have done many tests around it and none of them has shown that this crystal radiated a dangerous form of energy, the only thing worrying us is how it came out of the earth the day the construction of the last structure of the dome, the fountain we saw earlier, was inaugurated" She then told him and Chrissy, hoping to calm their anxiety down
Chrissy chose not to add any additional comments about the crystal as they walked deeper into the dome since it seemed to her that Jenny wasn't lying and she had no clue about what the meaning of this thing was. After a couple more minutes of walking on the path, the group finally reached the area of the dome where houses were built, including Jenny's house.
"We're here!" Jenny told them, pointing her house in the distance as they were walking up to it
They finally reached the doorstep of Jenny's house, it was a beautiful dark purple house with two floors and big windows, looking into the living room and the bedrooms. Jenny and the others walked up the small number of stairs that lead to the entrance door, which Jenny didn't wait for a second to unlock and open to let her guest in.
Chrissy was the first to step in and notice something very strange, an unusual amount of family pictures were hanging on all the walls of her house, which made Chrissy worry.
"Hope you like the design I went for with the decoration Slappy!" Jenny happily told him, not noticing Chrissy staring at the pictures all around them
"Why so many pictures of you and you're parents Jenny?" Chrissy asked bluntly, not thinking of the possibility that it would hurt her
"They..." Jenny started but couldn't finish, as a feeling of sadness was rising from her stomach
"Don't worry about it! They're just really busy so these pictures keep me company!" She then told her and Slappy, lying about the fact that they had left for a mission one day and never came back
"What are their names, Jenny?" Slappy then asked her "You never mentioned them to me" He then added, also getting worried like Chrissy
"My mother was-" She quickly corrected herself, realizing she was using the past tense "She is named Sarah, and my father is named Jason, both nice people I can tell you that!" She stated with a facade of joy, hiding how sad it made her to talk about her parents
While she was telling them that, they all sat down around the kitchen table, right next to the living room. While doing so, Slappy got a text message from his father.
"Who is it?" Jenny asked him, curious if it was already his dad
"It's my dad" He started as he turned in Chrissy's direction, who was sitting right next to him "My dad was able to organize a meeting in-between you and Spyke in Inkopolis near the tower!"
"Really?!"She asked with extreme excitement, jumping quickly to stand up on her legs in front of Slappy
"Yes, in 2 hours!" He happily told her
"I can't wait for you guys to meet him!" She told him, overwhelmed with joy to see him again
"Well..." Slappy started, worrying that he would disappoint her "We can't come with you"
"Why not?" She then asked him again, worried and confused
"It's quite obvious Chrissy, if too many of us go see him they are high risk that we get caught, it is better we stay here and watch over you from the cameras of the town," Jenny told her instead of Slappy, hoping she would understand
"I guess you are right" She agreed with her
Slappy opened his map application on his phone and showed Chrissy the path she would have to walk from where they were to reach the area where she and Spyke would meet
"You sure you will be ok?" Slappy asked her
"I will be!" Chrissy happily exclaimed
So in 2 hours, Chrissy will finally see again the person who saved her life...
