Chapter 5: Reaching back into Inkopolis

Chrissy thought Inkopolis was 30 minutes away from the dome yet she felt like she had been running for ages like the town was unreachable. when the capital finally was in her view, the rain was pouring down her face as the night was falling, this temperature was perfect for her hideaway in the town. The forest was now a clearing with small bushes, soon an under-construction street was in front of her, with houses being built. She was hungry and thirsty, making her weak and unalerted to her surroundings. This wasn't the area she was with Eric yesterday morning, so she simply kept running on the now muddy road, trying to find a place to hide when she bumped into someone in the street.

"watch out where you-..." Said the inkling that Chrissy bumped into, before cutting his own sentence when realizing he saw octolings tentacles

Chrissy quickly put her octoling tentacles hidden under her cap from her shirt, hoping that he wouldn't realize that she was an octoling. She ran faster until she couldn't see him behind her.

"That was a-...no it cant be an octoling...anyway..." Teck said, continuing his walk in direction of a friend's house, trying to forget that he thought to have seen an octoling

Chrissy kept running, her mind was only focused on that. She finally reached streets with lighted-up houses and lamp posts. Inklings were walking on the street sides, while she was running, hiding her face. She ran inside a house's backyard and sneaked under the balcony. She gently let her body slide down onto the ground. Under here, the ground was not affected by the rain. She used her backpack as a pillow and laid down, listening to the sounds of the rain. The silence was heavy on her shoulders, as she could've been eating pizza with Mona, Trevor, and Eric at that point. She fell asleep by mistake, trying her best not to cry but failing to do so...

Slappy is an inkling living within Inkopolis. He is a simple student wanting to work for peace in the unstable world they live in. Is friends, Malcom and Teck, mostly believe he is a big talker but won't do what he wants to do. Life for him, until now, was good, not that many people don't like him and he is mostly seen as a good person. Is father, Peter is the leader of a rebelled undercover government with the goal of reuniting inkling and octoling. The government is titled "The Inkocling government", based on a fusion of the word inkling and octoling, to symbolize peace and union between the two races. Slappy usually wakes up at 6 am, but today he woke up at 5:30 am, wanting to collect fresh cherries from the cherry tree in his backyard, which made pink petals covering the backyard. He ate a chocolate muffin quickly and dressed up to go outside, the rain of last night helped the cherries to be perfect! He went outside on the balcony, which is accessible from a door in his kitchen. He walked down the balcony stairs and started collecting cherries when...

"N-no, mom...."

Slappy heard a sleepy voice from under his balcony, he slowly walked towards under the balcony, only to find Chrissy, an octoling, sleeping under. He couldn't believe it, an octoling, in his backyard?!? He doesn't know what to do, he simply looked at her. He saw that she cried and that she is scared, as she slept in a circular position, her arms covering her head. Slappy is too scared to wake her up, he simply ran inside his house and wrote down a note. He then went back outside, put the basket of cherries under the cherry tree, and placed the piece of paper beside Chrissy's head. He then left his house for the bus stop. He was debating, now at the bus stop, to turn back around and wake her, but he also knew there is nothing to convince him that she is no threat to him. He even debated, while going toward school, texting his father, Peter, about the situation. He ended up not doing so, worried they might take her captive. He knew, from what he had heard from his parents, that rarely are the octolings capable of escaping a dome on their own, so Chrissy's background could be of great usage to them. That is if she decided to stay when he gets back...
