I was back at my quarter when Luke and Judith walked straight in. "Where the hell were you?" asked an impatient Luke.
"We've been looking everywhere for you!" Judith said as she dragged me out of the door.
"Where are we going?" I demanded but no one answered so I went along.
We strolled down the hallway all the way to the boys' wing and barged into Luke's quarter. As soon as we entered, I was stricken by the sweet smell of chocolate.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" they shouted at the same time.
"You guys actually remembered my birthday?" I burst out laughing. I couldn't help it! Even I forgot my own birthday. Wow, I guess I underestimated our friendship.
"Not only that! We got you a cupcake and a candle!" said Judith with a warm smile.
They brought out the cupcake and started singing. Once they were done, I blew the candle, but didn't bother making a wish.
Later, we all headed back to our own quarters. I was laying in bed swimming in my thoughts. Nathan's smile still stuck in my head.
There was something about him. Something I couldn't explain. He just seemed like he was one of those people who were at the wrong place at the wrong time. And then I got home to find out it was my birthday. I was glad that I had people like Luke and Judith but something was pulling away the happiness. I couldn't help but feel a little bit of sadness for them. They were good people even after they were made into assassins. I wonder how they would've turned out if they hadn't been brought here. I could imagine that they would have been ten times as kind.
The world needed more of that kind of people. They weren't born like that. Just like me.
Fatigue took over me and I surrendered to sleep.
I woke up to the sound of the morning bell. I was gasping and trying to even my breathing. I started getting nightmares again. They got worse and more vivid. A swarm of blackness surrounded me; my shadows sometimes slipped while I slept.
The dream was still fresh in my mind as I tucked the smoke back under my skin. Most, if not all, the sleep I got was plagued by nightmares. It was as if I was drowning in a dark sea, sinking to the sea bed. I was able to pull myself up towards the surface only to be dragged down again. I looked down at the hands grabbing me. Faces. Every person I ended. All wailing at crying and screaming my name. All of the 107 people.
I pulled myself out of bed. I remembered that I will go see Nathan again today and smiled. I got dressed and headed out of my door and to the cafeteria.
The day went by ever so slowly. We went through the same routine: breakfast, running, educational and theoretical classes, lunch, hand to hand combat, aiming, and then finally power control.
The day finally came to an end. After dinner, I took a few extra snacks and stuffed them into my pockets. I watched the sun set then got ready to head back to Nathan. I took a few extra bandages, a bottle of water and some of these snacks.

Another chapter!!!! Yayyy!! Well guys I just started school again... and I can not say that I am overjoyed. (Yes I just started my school year. I live in Australia so...)
Anyways, how was it? Yes it was a filler chapter. But since it was real short I'm gonna upload another chapter very very soon! So stay tuned!
