"Curtis, you have got to listen to me man. Bella isn't dead. We have to go find her." Curtis glances up at Creed. "Then why did Garrett have her necklace? What evidence do you have to prove your statements?" Creed sits down in despair as Jordan takes a stand.
"Look. I know it's just a feeling, but you have to trust us on this one Curtis." She shakes her head as Garrett jumps up. "Lies! Lies they say! How can you stand there, insulting me, when I obviously saw her get eaten alive?" At this point, Curtis stands up as well.
"ENOUGH!"
The room goes silent. Garrett huffs angrily before throwing himself back down onto the sofa. Suddenly remembering something, Creed gets up and whispers something into Curtis's ear. Curtis glances over at Garrett then back at Creed.
"Are you sure about this Creed?" He nods his head. Curtis sighs before clearing his throat. "Fine. You guys can go. But DON'T waste any bullets unless it's absolutely necessary." Creed and Jordan high five triumphantly.
"You've gotta take Garrett with you too." The three of them moan in dispair. "Why do we have to take him with us?" "I don't want to go with them! Don't you think I've been traumatized enough?" Curtis looks Jordan square in the eye. "It's either you take Garrett with you or you don't go at all. That's my final decision."
Jordan sighs as Curtis walks out of the room, leaving the three of them alone to bicker and fight. Creed stands back up and pulls Jordan closer to him before whispering.
"We can take him."
"Why? What are you thinking Creed? If he did something to Bella, just imagine what he could do to us!"
"I understand that Jordan. That's why we're going to need to have more people going with us. Do you think Jonathan and Meliyah will be able to tag along as well?"
Jordan sighs and rolls her eyes. "It's a possibility, yes, but no promises."
Garrett appears beside the two of them. "Hey! I should get a say in this matter!" Creed and Jordan sigh at they glance over at him. "I'll only go if it's just the three of us. That means nobody else." He crosses his arms as he smiles smugly. "What? No! That's not fair!" Garrett points at Jordan.
"You heard what Curtis, our boss, said! You guys can't go unless you bring me along." He places his arms behind his back and stands in a position similar to one with importance. Creed sighs as Jordan glances over at him. "Fine. What do you want?" A look of mischief twinkles in the corners of Garrett's eyes. "Let's go find Bella. Just the three of us."
They arrive back at the derelict house, Garrett once again being at the head of the trio. Beams of light flicker across the peeling walls as they step inside: first Garrett, then Jordan, and finally Creed.
They stop as Jordan begins to cough, her lungs not yet adjusted to the musty air. "Come on Jordan! We have to be quiet! Do you want one of those things finding us?" Garrett scolds her as she continues to cough. "First Bella and now Jordan? Why can't you be nice for a change?"
Creed shoves Garrett, sending him stumbling backwards. Garrett growls before pushing Creed back, sending him to the floor. "Come on guys...knock it off...I'm fine..." Jordan wipes away the saliva on her chin as she stands back up. Garrett and Creed stare at each other for a moment, earning them each a sigh from her.
Silently, Creed stands up and brushes the dirt off of his pants as Garrett paces slightly. "Well? Aren't you going to show us where you were?" Garrett freezes for a moment before returning to his usual demeanor.
"Oh...uh...yeah...it's this way..." He stares at the ground as he moves, avoiding eye contact with both of them. Creed follows closely behind him as Jordan stays behind a few feet. Garrett moves his flashlight in an arch in front of him, the beam of light panning across the walls like a camera. It disappears for a moment as it passes over the basement entrance.
"Garrett, why did you bring us back here?" About a foot away from where the floor drops off into the first step, Garrett stops and looks over at Creed. He lowers his voice so Jordan doesn't hear them. "We already know what happened down there." Creed looks at the entrance again before staring at Garrett, confused as why they're standing there.
"Guys, I really don't see any signs of any of those creatures, much less a fight with them, being here. Something isn't right..." Standing in the doorway of the kitchen, Jordan freezes as she watches Garrett push Creed down the basement stairs. "Oh my god..." She gasps and covers her mouth as Garrett glances over at her, the corner of his mouth moving ever so slightly into a maniacal grin.
"Don't worry Jordan. You're going to be joining him soon..." Jordan barely has time to think to defend herself as he throws himself at her. He grabs her arms and tries to drag her to the stairs. "Get off of me you murderer!" She squirms and tugs, trying her hardest to get away from him. Her heels drag against the tiles as she pulls harder, the entrance to the basement growing closer and closer.
Suddenly, one of her arms come loose, so she yanks her arm out of his grasp and goes to grab the butt of her knife. Garrett, being faster than Jordan, senses this and prepares himself. As she pulls the knife out of the sheath in her belt and raises her arm to strike down, he grabs her under the arm, picks her up off the ground, and throws her to his side. She slices through the air as she moves backward.
There's a loud cracking sound as her back collides with the edge of the sink's granite countertops. The impact and the recoil send her forwards slightly, so as she falls to the ground, she bangs her head off of the granite countertop of the island. Garrett watches all of this gleefully. He strides over to her unconscious body and strokes her head sadistically. "Oh Jordan. You should never try to fight me. I always win."
