I pull up to Meliyah's house. The massive building lingers above me. I park my car before climbing out. The city twinkles behind the house. My heels clack against the cobblestone driveway as I make my way to the front door. The music gets louder as I get closer. I reach out to knock on the door. Before I could even knock, it opens up. Meliyah smiles as she grabs my arm and pulls me inside.
"Bella! It's so nice of you to show up! Come on! The party waits for no one!"
I try to keep up with her as she drags me through the massive house. She lets go once we're in the center of the room.
"Hey guys! Look who actually showed up!"
Everyone freezes and looks at us. She steps to the side and gestures towards me. Everybody waves at me before resuming what they're doing. I wave back nervously.
"Nice outfit. You look really pretty."
I look to my right and see a smiling figure. My cheeks turn pink as I look down.
"Thanks Creed. You don't look too bad yourself."
He chuckles and looks down as well.
"Thanks, but not as good as you though."
I look up at him. The lights flash off of the lens of his glasses. He looks up at me and steps a bit closer. I notice his hand start moving towards mine. Just as our hands are about to connect, Jordan gets in the middle of us, her back towards Creed. Nate, Caroline, and Jonathan are right behind her.
"Bella! You came! I thought we were going to be left alone!"
She hugs me tightly as they form a circle around me. Creed takes a step back awkwardly. I look over her shoulder at him. He points to the kitchen. I nod my head before he starts to walk off. I focus on Jordan.
"Well why wouldn't I show up? Senior parties are the best! Especially Meliyah's parties."
Jordan let's me go and nods her head.
"Yeah. Senior parties are the best! They're like the only place with good alcohol!"
I laugh and roll my eyes.
"Jordan, this isn't really good. You should really get a hold on your..."
Jordan cuts Caroline off by placing her finger on her lips.
"Shh Carol! This isn't about me! This is about our little buddy!"
She looks over at me and winks.
"Actually..."
Jonathan starts to step in but shuts up when Jordan shoots him a look. Nate decides to put in his input.
"You guys! Jordan is right! We shouldn't be focusing on ourselves right now. Right now, we should be focusing on our still single friend. What, it's like the beginning of our senior year and you're still single? We need to change that."
I take a step away from them.
"You guys! I'm fine being single and alone. I don't need a boyfriend."
Jordan rolls her eyes.
"Yeah, and this is coming from the girl who's still a virgin. Bella, you have know idea what you're talking about."
Caroline nods her head.
"Yeah! Having a boyfriend is fun!" Jonathan looks over at her.
"Really? You think being with me is fun?"
She nods her head as his cheeks turn red. She kisses his cheek before he pulls her into a hug. I sigh and roll my eyes.
"Who knows Bella? You could be as good as a kisser as Jordan is!"
