Chapter 9
Sapphire's POV

After they leave I think of a way of how I'm going to communicate if I can't talk so I try to wiggle my toes.

It takes a few minutes but I finally get my toes to move. Then I try moving my fingers. This however takes me more time. By the time I get my finger muscles moving, I hear the door open.

"Hey, I brought you food even though I don't know how the hell I'll get you to eat it when you can't even move." Logan chuckles.

My fingers move and my stomach growls giving him a sign that I can eat.

"Sounds like your hungry, and by your fingers moving I suppose you can chew then. Or move your jaw?" He asks.

After a second I feel something drop into my mouth and slowly I shut my mouth and chew it. It's chicken.

'This is going to be awkward' I think.

After a few minutes I hear the door open again and I hear Xavior ask, "Ah yes, I see you need assistance?"

Logan doesn't answer and after another second I feel a needle injected into my arm. It's stings and I flinch mentally, I hate needles.

Finally I feel my eyes open but quickly shut them again as I'm blinded by the light.

"There. Now she can move her head. Everything from the neck up. All you need to do is give her the food." Xavior smiled down at me.

I smile back but then think of Xavior's words and then a frown is set upon my lips.

"I feel like a mother bird." Logan jokes as he drops a piece of an apple into my mouth.

I look down at my chest and watch it rise and fall, I can feel tears sting my eyes but I don't want to cry, nor do I want them to see me cry.

"Logan, I warned them they would be watched. I had installed cameras in the corners of the room so they cannot try any funny business. I also told them they will be caring for her much like you are at the moment, and they will be making sure she is comfortable. I have decided she will be in this state instead, head able to move and all. She will be able to talk, eat, and all that. If she must use the toiletries she must tell either Scott or Hank and they will stop the injection long enough for it to wear off so she may walk." Xavior looks at me and I look up with the tears still in my eyes. "I know dear, but this is how it must be. Also, you heard me so if you need to, tell the boys ahead of time because it does take around twenty minutes for the drug to wear off. Alright?"

I nod and swallow the food I was chewing.

"The boys will be here around seven-thirty. Logan, that means you stay until they arrive." He points his words to me.

Logan nods gives me another piece of fruit.

"I'll see you every meal to make sure you are alright. Goodnight Sapphire, and please try not to take this to heart dear, it's only for a little while." The Professor whispers to me then leaves promptly.

I see Logan sigh and toss a slice of an orange into my waiting mouth.

A tear slides down my temple as I  chew slower now.

Logan's eyebrows furrow together and get me another piece of an apple but I turn my head, refusing it.

"What's wrong?" Logan's tone is harsh and I flinch.

"I feel like I'm disabled. I feel broken." More tears slide down my temples and sniff before continuing, "I thought I'd never feel broken again once I found you. I vowed to myself to piece myself together before I got to you and before we get to know each other so I we could be happy once more. I thought I'd never have to break again. Yet, here I am broken and battered once again."
