Mark leaned back in his chair, pulling his headphones off his ears and admiring his handiwork.
"Another thumbnail well made," he said, congratulating himself. He checked his phone. 10:34 am, October 30th. Just a few days after Jack had arrived, and Mark was still working on thumbnails. He leaned over the sink, trying desperately not to throw up and awaken Amy. He couldn't take it. He slid himself over to the toilet and retched, nothing coming up. He tried to do it quietly, but knew Mark probably couldn't hear it over any music he was listening to as he worked. He stood up and the world shifted around him. He shut the door as steadily as he could. He was dizzy. Darkness slowly crept along the edges of his vision until...everything was dark.
