Mending The Bad Boy

Chapter 21

We all just stood there staring.

I at Danny, waiting for him to say something.
Danny at me waiting for me to break down.
Shawn at me, smirking because he knows something.
Damien and Seth waiting for me to run again.

I decide to break the awkward silence of everyone trying to anticipate the next moves of their prey.

"Do you mind?" I ask turning to Shawn.

He shrugs and leaves with Seth and Damien.

I look at Danny standing there with his hands in his pockets.

"Danny-

"What do you want me to say Annie?" He asks interrupting me. "You want me to say I'm sorry? Do you want me to come crawling back to you? Because I'm not."

His words stung worse than a snake bite. The venom in his voice, slowly sinking into my head.

"Danny." My voice broke. " You don't get to do that!"

"You don't get the right to talk to me like that. Not after all the stuff you've done!" I yell angrily and cross my arms. "I don't understand after all what we have been through, after marrying me, after Lily, after Christian, after Josiah, you still left me !"

"Your broken." He whispers.

"No." I shake my head as I try not to let any tears fall down my cheek.

"Yes, you are!" He yells, walking closer to me. "You think your trying to save me, but your really the one that needs saving!"

"No thats not true!" I say letting a tear fall down my face.

"Admit it." He says staring at me with his cold eyes and grasps my throat, but doesn't choke me.

"I won't admit to something that isn't true." I say shaking my head. "Why won't you just make it easy and take me home? Save me. Be the hero!"

"Annie, not every girl is going to have a fairytale ending." He says gripping my throat harder.

"What makes you think I want a fairytale ending?" I ask looking him in the eyes.

"Because I know you." He says. "I know how much you love me. I know how much you love Lily. I was there for you when you cried. I was there to hear you laugh. I was there when you knocked a hole through my door. I was there when you first walked into Walmart to buy nails."

I was speechless.

Utterly speechless.

It was like the world kept weighing me down.

But it's him. He's my world.

And I'm never gonna stop till I get him back.
