Chapter 25

Danny's p.o.v. *

I turn my phone on and call Alex.

"Hello?" He says sounding like he just woke up.

"Hey, can you meet me?" I ask. "This thing with Shawn need to end."

"Ha!" He laughs mockingly. "Good luck."

"Shut up and meet me at the hideout on Elms Street." I say and hang up.

About 25 minutes later, I arrive and see the guys all there.

"Lets go inside." I say and we go into the big 'dirt hole' as Annie calls it. It's that place that everyone says not to go into but it also makes the perfect place to meet up with the guys.

"So what's exactly the plan here?" Jake asks.

"Annie told me she was afraid of something." I say folding my arms. "She has never admitted that she was afraid of something."

"I don't want to sound rude, but so what?" Cody says." What's your point?"

"The point is, whenever there's a problem, who always gets hurt?" I ask. "Who's always getting taken, who always gets sucked into my mess?"

I rub my head and walk in a circle.

"This ends today." I say sternly. "I want her to have a normal life. And I will do anything for her to have that."

"You've gotten soft Danny." Alex says.

"Just help me." I say shaking my head. "I'm doing it for her! She doesn't deserve this."

"I'm in." Cody says.

Knew it...
If I didn't marry her, I'm sure he would have.

"We all will help." Jake says looking at Alex.

"Why exactly are we doing though?" Cody asks.

"Clearing our names." I say getting ready for the argument coming.

"Oh come on Danny!" Alex shouts.

"You can't decide that!" Jake says.

They all start shouting and fighting.

"Everyone shut up." I yell.
With that they all stopped and look at me.

"You realize what that involves right ?" Cody asks.

I nod.

"How do you know she'll even come back to you after even if you can clear your name?" Alex says crossing his arms.

"She will." I say shaking my head." I know she will."

"And if she doesn't?" Jake asks.

"I'll fight." I say. "Like I always do. Im always fighting for her. Always trying to find her."

"And it's always because of something you've done." Alex says rolling his eyes. "Your not the hero she thinks you are."

"Your just a jerk that messes with her feelings and married her because she's something you can control." He spits.

I scoff and turn away from him.

"It's true! I know what your like." He says angrily.

"Why are you saying all this?" I ask agitated and hold my up hands . "You've never brought up any of this before. Why now?"

"Hey I'm just saying what everyone else is thinking." He says sounding innocent.

"Listen man, I just don't think clearing our names is what's going to help this situation." Cody says trying to calm everyone down. "This is a serious matter. Annie could move on and you'd be left for yourself if this goes wrong in anyway."

"What if we tell Annie about all this?" Jake asks.

"Annie's not a good actress." I say shaking my head. "She'd never pull it off. We can't pull Annie into this."

"Danny's right about not including her in it." Cody says. "But what your wrong about is, she's already involved. Annie's getting hurt no matter what. You need to understand that Danny. But you can make sure she's safe and that there are precautions to take."

"I understand." I say and turn to Alex. "I need you right now man. Are you with me?"

He hesitates but nods his head.

"Alright now lets go over the plan." I say.

Whatever we do, has to be done right.
  

             Otherwise I loose the only light
