Mending The Bad Boy

Chapter 11

"Alex, what is going on?" I shout.

He pulls me over to a corner where no one was and Jake and Cody follow us.

"Annie, I'm not entirely sure all the details." Alex says trying to avoid my question.

"Alex, I swear if you don't tell me right now-

"Okay, okay." He cuts me off trying to get me to be quiet." There are men, looking for a girl. She has some sort of ability or something I'm not sure, but she's special. So they are after all the gang leaders girl. Supposedly one of them has the right one. Your being watched and followed. They are just waiting for the right time."

"You know what, I'm more confused than a chameleon in a bag of skittle." I say to him and then I hit myself because I probably just said something very stupid....

The three of them just look at me like I need to be committed.

"Anyway, while Danny is being distant right now, I think we should go to the hideout." He says refuting to some cold basement that smells like mold and cheese.

"Um Danny is being "distant"? " I say annoyed. "I don't think the word for Danny right now is "distant"."

I could think of something a little more useful....

Crud muffin, Fartknocker, Buckethead... and so on.

"Annie snap back into reality." Jake says snapping his fingers in front of my face.

"I'm not going without Danny, and I'm not gonna spend the next century in a dirty, smelly, and gross basement." I say crossing my arms.

"Stop being such a whinny baby Annie.." Alex says annoyed.

"You can't make me." I say walking away.

"Ha! That's what you think!" I hear Alex mumble.

I look over at them and smirk.

Across the room, a guy working out looks at me and stares. It's like he was burning a hole in my face. I look suspiciously at him not breaking the stare.

He holds his ear and mumbles something. A guy next to him says something to him and they both look over again at me.

"Um guys?" I whisper.

Cody looks behind him and sees what I'm staring at. He must have known right away because next thing I know I'm being pushed into a run.

The guys behind us start running after us and I look behind us.

Alex takes a chair and knocks it over, trying to trip one of them.

"Go to the car Annie!" Cody says.

"I'm not leaving without Danny!" I shout.

"I understand what your trying to do but Danny can't help you right now Annie. He's not with it." He says as we run and dodge a treadmill.

"I can't." I say and start running towards the boxing room.

"Annie no!" Alex shouts.

Next thing I know arms throw me over someone's shoulder.

"Put me down you club-nugget!!" I shout and slam my fists into them. I slam my knee into their gut and they drop me.

I start running again and don't look back.

I hit the room and the room is empty except for Danny, a couple guys and the one I talked to before.

"Danny!" I shout as I run to him.

He turns to me with wide eyes and motions something with his hands.

"Well Danny, I didn't think it would be this easy to get her." One of the men said and then turns to me.

"You stay away from her or so help me-Danny yells at him with venom in his voice but the man cuts him off.

"What Danny?" He laughs. "What can you do?"

There was no "Annie run" as always. But for some reason it became a habit.

I turn and start to run but the men that were running after us, was right behind me.

"Tsk tsk tsk Annie. Why would you run?." The one man asks. "Even Danny knows there's no escape."

An evil smirk spreads across his face.

The men behind me grab me. Both of them held one of my arms.

"Let her go Damien." Danny says almost with a hint of annoyance.

"You just sounded like when my mom used to tell me not to play with my food." He chucked evilly. "I love playing with my food."

It almost sounded stupid, but I knew what he meant.

"If you squeeze any harder, my arms my pop out of my skin." I say to the one guy hold on my right.

"If you don't shut up, I'll squeeze your throat so you can't talk." He says squeezing harder.

"Seth, ease it up. Bring her to the helicopter." Damien instructs.

Danny just stood there emotionless. Like do his legs not work?

Excuse me but if God gave you legs, use them!

"Danny!" I shout to him.

He just stands there crossing his arms like he was I wasn't even there.

"Danny!" I shout again as they pull me down a stinky staircase leading me up.

"Shut up!" Seth shouted and slaps my face.

Oh you did not....

I slam my knee into his stomach and push he other guy off of me.

I start running up the stairs and they follow me up.

Out of stupidity, I go up. I swear I'm part blonde sometimes.

When I got to the top, there the rest of them were waiting for me to get into the helicopter.

This was not my lucky day....
