RECAP: The nurse walked back in holding a tray of disgusting looking food and placed it on my lap. “So who will you be leaving with tomorrow morning?” She said, looking at Sam and Josh.

“Me.” They both said at the same time. They looked to each other angrily and then looked to me, waiting for an answer…. Who was I going to go with?

“Umm, guys…” I began, feeling my nerves kick in. “I think I’m just going to spend tomorrow at home. With Victoria. Or maybe I’ll go help Tracy set up for the party, I don’t know.” I said. They both looked uncomfortable and upset but nodded their heads.  I snuggled back down into my shitty hospital bed and closed my eyes, indicating that I wanted to be left alone so I could sleep.

The next morning I woke up, the room bright and extremely white to a soft low husky voice singing happy birthday. I looked up to see Josh standing about me holding a tray with orange juice, pancakes, waffles and fruit loops on it. It also had a single red rose. “Yay! Thank god the food here is horrible!” I said, picking up the spoon and grinning at him.

“Happy birthday, Lola.” Josh said, kissing my cheek.

“I didn’t think I was going to be seeing you today?” I questioned.

“I just wanted to drop off your present, I’ll be gone in a few minutes.” He said.

“Josh! No presents! Seriously! Take it back!” I said, completely serious.

“I can’t take it back, I made it.” He grinned. He pulled out something a black velvet bag.

I opened it slowly and pulled out a beautiful bracelet. It was plaited with turquoise and coral leather and it had a little silver charm of an angel of it. “It’s beautiful.” I whispered, putting it on. “How did you make this?” I said, looking up at him.

“I chose your favourite colours and then I melted the metal and molded it into the shape of the angel.” I smiled and reached up and hugged him.

“I love it so much. Thank you, this means so much to me.” I said to him. Josh smiled and hugged me back.

“I should probably head out soon, Victoria and Tracy are skipping school to take you shopping apparently.” Josh said, kissing my forward and picking up his jacket. “I’ll see you tomorrow night. Can’t wait to go clubbing with you now! Happy birthday! Oh by the way, I’ve got another present coming for you but it won’t be here for another two days” He said, closing my door behind him. I sighed and smiled to myself, touching the angel on my wrist and wondering what more he could have possibly got me.

Half an hour later Victoria ran in with a grin on her face “OH MY GOD HAPPY BIRTHDAY!” She squealed, jumping on my bed. “Woah, black eye much?” She grinned, pulling out a present out of her bag. “This is going to come in handy then.” She smiled. She chucked the present on my lap and I slowly ripped away the paper. Inside it there was a box and when I opened it the sides popped out it somehow doubled in length. The box was completely filled with foundations, powders, make up brushes, lipsticks, lip-glosses, eyeliners, eye shadows and all the other makeup you could possible imagine.
