First Encounter

Alexander's P.O.V

I was awaken by a light knock on my door. "Sir, breakfast is ready." Called Edmund, my butler. I could hear his foot steps as he walked away from my room. I climbed out of bed and changed into my work uniform before heading down stairs to breakfast. As I entered the kitchen I was engulfed by the aroma of food that was prepared for me. "Good morning Sir. Did you sleep well?" Said Edmund

"Good morning, and yes I did." 

"Wonderful to hear Sir." I grabbed a bowl of oatmeal and fruit and began eating. Edmund always out did himself of food. When I had my fill I cleaned myself up and headed for work. As I walked out the door Edmund called out to me, "Sir, you are forgetting your keys."

"I think I will walk today Edmund."

"Alright Sir." And the door shut behind me. I lived away an hour way from the city in a remote part of the hills that most people didn't know about, I liked my privacy. So on a cation I liked to walk through the forestry hills to enjoy the view. The city was loud, like it usually is. I was about five blocked away I saw her, she was walking out of her apartment, she was absolutely stunning. She had an olive complexion with long black hair, and emerald green eyes. There was something about her that was just breath taking. I was extremely pleased to see her turn and walk the same direction I was going. I was taking in every ounce of her, after about three block she looked back at me, I could hear her heart began to race. Every so often she would glance over her shoulder to see if I was still there. I could tell she was frightened, I could easily chance that with a nice conversation, but part of me was getting a laugh out of it. I knew she was human from the second I saw her, but I didn't understand why I felt this way, I wanted to see if maybe it was because I wanted to prey on her, but it didn't feel like that, it was different, and I couldn't figure out why. The sound of her heart pounding gave me a rush, I wanted her, like I have never wanted anyone else. I've have never felt lustful for a human, and it fascinated me. 

As we approached the store she started running, I couldn't help but laugh. As she walk into the store her heart beat immediately slowed down, I was thrilled to see her walk into that store, Because that is where I work. I walked through the automatic doors and she turned to meet my gaze, I could hear her gasp as she saw me. Fear exploded through her body, and heat through mine. I began walking towards her as I unzipped my jacket reviling my uniform underneath, "Are you okay?" I said as I saw her look down at my name tag. 

"Oh, um, yes I'm fine." She stuttered the words at me. I smiled and turned away. I watch as she walked up to the service desk and took a seat by the managers office. Was she going to start working here? I was filled with excitement, was I going to be able to see her on a daily basis. I waited until she waking into the office. I began to stock the shelves before I was  called to take some paperwork into the office for the manager, and I was more then happy to do so. I walked into the copy room to print off some paperwork before carrying the stack towards the office. I could hear that the interview was over and she was making her way out of the office, I was just in time. As she swung the door open and ran right into me making me drop my stack of papers everywhere. "Shit." Our voices called out. I was expecting a sweet encounter but this was much better. I noticed that she had fallen so I reached out to help her up. As she held my hand she looked up at me in amazement, I couldn't help but laugh, "Maybe be a little more careful next time." I said smiling down at her. 

"Yeah sorry about that, let me help you." She said staring at the mess of papers on the floor. I could tell she was trying not to stare at me, which made me want her to so much more.

"Thanks, sense it kinda was your fault." I chuckled and teased trying to get any emotion from her.

"True." I said with a laugh which was like harmony to my ears. We both started to clean up the mess she made. After a couple minutes it was like it never happened, and I continued on my work and she began to walk out of the store. 

The rest of the day she was all I could think about, she was  clouding my thoughts and my mind. At closing the manager called us for a meeting. "I would like you all to know that we will have a new staff member tomorrow. I need you all to be respectful and kind to her.  Her name is Kyia Simian." Yes, I had a name to this gorgeous specimen, in the middle of my daydream I noticed that the manager was still continuing her speech, "That will be all you can all go home now." But I only cough the end of it. On my walk home I slowed to gaze up at the apartment that Kyia had walked out of, wondering which one was hers. For the rest of the walk home she was in my thoughts. 

"Hello Sir, how was your day at work? Satisfactory I hope." Greeted Edmund as I waked through the doors of my house.

"I met a girl, and she gives me the most amazing feeling Edmund, I'm not sure what to do. I have been on this earth for 5216 years and not once have I felt this."

"Maybe she is the one Sir."

"She is  human Edmund."

"She is? Well Sir, I will do some research, maybe I can find something on this sort of thing."

"Edmund there is not many older then me."

"I am aware Sir."

"Well, guess it wont hurt to try." Edmund turned and walked away to get started on the research on this strange feeling. Could there be such a thing as a human soulmate for a vampire? And if so why is this the first time I have heard about it. The rest of the night it was the only thing on my mind.
