"Hell no!" I shout, standing up instantly.
"Wait!" Evan shouts after me and he grabs me around the waist.
"I'm getting really tired of the tactics you use to try and stop me," I grumble as he hauls me up and sits me back down to where I was sitting a second ago. When he made that damn dare.
"You'll have to get used to that," he says with a grin across his face. I roll my eyes and lean back against the tree, thinking up a way to get out of this icky sticky situation.
"If I date you, can I break up with after two minutes?" I ask him and he laughs.
"No, but you have to let me explain myself about that dare," he says seriously and I scoff.
"I don't have to do anything. Because I chicken!" I shout with a proud smile on my face. I would never date Evan. He was the most stuck up and egotistical person I knew. There was no way I would ever stoop to his level and actually date him. Never!
"You can't chicken," he smirks and I growl.
"Yes I can and I will. I chicken," I say seriously and he laughs.
"Let me explain! Please!" he exclaims and I laugh.
"Fine. You have two minutes starting now. And don't ask for more, two minutes is generous coming from me," I wave my finger in the air and he sucks in a deep breath.
"Okay, so ya know how I like Patricia and I'm pretty sure you like Kayden. Well, if we dated it could make them jealous and possibly get us what we want. You could get Kayden and I could get Patricia. And all we have to do is date for a few months and make it convincing," he explains and my mouth drops to the floor.
"No," I say after gaining control of my mouth again.
"Why not? It would get you what you want and give me what I want. It's genius," he states and I roll my eyes. Of course he thinks it's genius, it was his plan.
"It's insane! I would get so many glares every day and nothing of mine would be private anymore. NO!" I answer again except make the no louder. But he still wasn't listening. But then again, nobody listens to me anymore.
"Please! I really like Patricia. And all we have to do is date for a while. We don' even to go on a lot of dates. Just some public appearances and we'll be fine," he waves his hand through the air like it was nothing and I cackle.
"You've gotta be kidding me! I don't like you! How am I supposed to act like I like you?" I ask him and he furrows his eyebrows like he was thinking but I knew he wasn't.
"It won't be that hard. Here," he reaches for my hand and I yank it away and walk towards my car.
"Never," I say stubbornly. I was getting out of here before he had any other crazy ideas.
"Please!" he shouts after me and then his remark about Kayden pops into my head. What if it could work? Would it really?
"You better be sure this is going to work!" I shout as I swivel back towards him and he grins.
"It will," he reassures me but I walk up to him and point my finger at his chest.
"You have one week to prove to it if there's no change then it's done. I won't go through with it. Got it?" I hiss up at him and he grins down at me, his cold blue eyes shimmering like ice in the sun.
"I got it. Now, a kiss goodbye?" he makes a kissy face and I back away quickly.
"Don't push it. We're just getting started," I warn him and he smiles mischievously.
"Alright, jeez," he puts his hands up like he's not going to touch me and I nod my head curtly.
"And first, we need some ground rules," I order him and he laughs.
"Alright, I'll make the first one. You have to put some effort into the acting," he points at me and I laugh.
"What makes you think that I won't?" We both laugh at my remark and once the laughter stopped, we just looked at each other.
"Are you staring at my amazing looks?" he smirks, as I laugh.
"Nah, I'm looking at a weird looking alien," I joke and he glares at me.
"I'm shocked we're actually getting along," he suddenly says and my laughter stops.
"Slow your roll there. And here's another rule, we only contact the other in emergencies. And a maximum of two public appearances a week. Got it?" I point my finger at him and he chuckles.
"You're cute when you're angry, you know that?" he remarks with a grin on his face, that charming grin that he always used to get what he wanted in school.
"Woah there. And also, none of those remarks unless we have to," I make the rule and add a disgusted face for his comment. He just continues to laugh as he stands and then I stand.
"So, when do we come out as a couple?" he asks as his laughter finally lulls.
"Tomorrow. I wanna start this test run and get it over with so I can show that I'm right," I say smiling and he scoffs.
"Who says you're right?" he challenges me and my smile turns into a grin.
"Me. I say that I'm right and you're wrong," I reply as we walk towards my car.
"Whatever. I need a ride, girlfriend," he says the last one with a weird voice and I cringe.
"Please don't use that title very often. I don't like it already," I plead, disgusted by the fact that I really just agreed to fake dating Evan King. The slimiest ball of Everett high primo boy you could ever find. I unlock my car and hop on the driver's side as Evan gets into the passenger side. He reaches for my hand and I yank it away.
"Oh come on. You're going to have to get used to it. Now, I'll drive you to and from school every day and we will hang out on Tuesday's and Thursdays during lunch. Does that sound okay?" he looks to me with this sudden plan and my eyes widen in surprise.
"Jeepers didn't know you could make a plan so quickly," I joke and he rolls his eyes.
"And none of that in front of everybody else," he says and I gasp.
"I'm not listening to that rule. This is the way I am, take it or leave it, Mr. Primo," I say as I pull out of the parking lot.
"Fine. But only a few times. If you do it too much then they will find out that this is all fake," he warns me and I scoff.
"Who will ever know that it's all fake?" I ask as I pull into his driveway.
"Everybody will if you keep acting like that!" he exclaims and we both laugh. He hops out of the car and waves goodbye as I pull out of his driveway and head towards my house.
Oh boy, what did I just get myself into?
