"Ahhh!" I scream as Alec and Evan chase me towards the cars.
"You're so getting thrown into the lake!" Alec shouts after me as I jog around one car and tighten my bikini straps. Nobody could see the bikini except for the strings around my neck and for some odd reason, I was kinda looking forward to Evan's reaction when I show off my bikini fully.
"That's only if you can catch me!" I yell back, hopping into the driver's seat of Grandpa's pickup truck. Luke hops in the passenger seat with laughter spilling out of his mouth.
"Pedal to the metal, girly!" Luke exclaims as I start the car and shift it into reverse. Luke throws his backpack down onto the floor in front of his feet and he sticks his hand out the window to wave to Alec and Evan. Both of whom looked equally mischevious and bummed that Luke grabbed the passenger seat.
I drive down the driveway right up behind my parent's car and the other two cars in front of theirs. I slowed as I got up closer to my parents' black Suburban and finally let out a loud chuckling.
"I outran them!" I cheer, pumping my fist in the air excitedly.
"And you're surprised?" Luke infers as I place my retro-cop style sunglasses on the bridge of my nose and steer slowly around the corner like everybody else.
"Well, duh! Evan is the star quarterback at my school and Alec is the same way!" I exclaim in response as Luke chuckles.
"True," he amends as we pull into the tree sheltered drive of my family's secret waterfall.
As everybody gets to the end of the drive and parks, I do the same. A huge grin blooms across my face as I hear the raging water of the Williams waterfall. I pull off my t-shirt and slip off my shorts, tossing them into the truck where they would stay dry.
"You look--" Evan stops in his tracks in awe as he gets out of his car and Alec follows suit. Both of them looked adorable when they were in awe. I turn in a circle to reveal my whole light blue and navy blue bikini. It was just the right tones of blue to highlight my tan skin and make my eyes seem even brighter.
"What? Did you think you were the only good looking one in this relationship?" I waltz over to Evan as I grin from my remark. He looks over my body a few more times and then wraps his arms around my waist, whipping me up against his warm skin. His breath tickles my ear and my concentration snapped.
"Never in a million years," he whispers up against my neck, goosebumps desperately wanted to break out on my skin but I whipped them back under. There was no way I was going to make it look like I had feelings for him. Which I didn't. This was all a ruse. But he was a great actor.
"Good," I twist out of his grasp and walk towards where Alec was walking on the trail. I glance back at Evan and catch him watching me go with a weird look on his face.
"You ready for a party?" Alec asks as I catch up to him. I laugh at his question. He asks this same question every year that we come here. And it always turns out to be a party, whether I have Evan or Kayden here.
"Hell yeah!" I shout in response as we come up on the waterfall and I hear the collective gasp of everybody around me. And my smile just keeps getting wider.
The water raged over the edge of the five-story waterfall and spilled into the medium pond below. You could see a little alcove behind the bottom of the waterfall that glowed blue from the sunlight reflecting off the water. Alec and I look over at each other in unison and instantly begin to race over the bridge to the waterfall. We roar up the stairs to the top of the waterfall and I make it to the top first.
But as soon as I stop to catch my breath, Alec continues to run past me and grabs my arm as he does so. Alec runs right over the ledge and we both begin to tumble down over the waterfall and towards the pond. I scream as we both fly downwards, the water coming closer with every second. As we come right over the top fo the water, we scrunch into cannonball form and splash into the water with giggles and chuckling.
"You're so dead for that!" I exclaim as Alec and I come up for water and I splash him. He chuckles and splashes me back.
"You know you enjoyed that," Alec teases as I begin to walk up the shallow's and towards land.
"Never!" I shout in response as we both chuckle and I suddenly get attacked by muscular arms and blazing blue eyes.
"Time for a spin!" Evan announces as he begins to spin me through the air. I can't help but laugh as the water whizzes by me. My heart couldn't help but kick up the dust all around it as my skin rubbed up against his. I command my heart to stop with its childish fluttering and skipping.
"Ready?! 3.........2........1!!" Evan shouts as he gives me a final hard spin and then throws me back into the water with a ginormous splash. I become surrounded by water and let myself fall farther under the cool silky water. I hear a muffled splash and spot Evan swimming towards me with a gleam in his eyes.
"Ah!" I let out a muffled squeal and try to swim away from him but he grabs my foot and yanks me closer to him. I whip around in the water to face him as he pulls my face closer to his. We begin to float upwards, suddenly one large weight that was heading for the surface. His hands go up to my cheeks and he pulls my forehead up to his.
"Thank you," he whispers softly as we stare into each other's eyes. I breathe heavily to try and keep up with my racing heart as water dripped off of my face and his.
"For what?" I finally collect a few of my suddenly scattered thoughts to speak and Evan lets out a light laugh that tickles my nose and makes me smile ever so softly.
"Everything," he responds softly. He begins to slowly rub his thumbs back and forth behind my ears, causing goosebumps to break out across my skin.
"You better watch it, King," I whisper teasingly and he raises his eyebrows up against my forehead.
"Why?" he plays along with a wild grin spreading across his face. He slides one hand down from my cheek and around my waist to pull the other half of me up against him.
"Becuase if I didn't know any better, I would think that you were falling for me," I respond, a hint of serious slowly trickling into my voice.
"Only in your dreams, Williams," his infectious grin spreading to me.
