Chapter 45

I walk into school the next day wearing the necklace that little boy Isaiah from the mall gave me, except I customized it and put the charms from Hot Topic yesterday along with a little charm that has the letter Z on it and the charm from yesterday that Austin gave me since I found the bracelet sitting on my dresser broken I just decided to put it on the necklace so I wouldn't have to throw it away. So now the necklace has the word moose on it, a charm with claw marks on it, the Z charm, the rainbow and a little heart charm that says "a simple I love you means more than anything" and a key, I feel like I'm more connected to Zoe because of all the charms on the necklace mean something to me or were picked out by Zoe herself.

I sit down on the red bench smiling away fiddling with the charms when all the sudden the necklace is ripped from my hands breaking the chain in the process, I see the charms go flying in different directions but when I look up I'm met with the face of my former best friend Jaidyn, I and she had been friends in 7th grade but she got popular when we got in 8th grade so she happily took on the role of beating me up to prove to the popular girls that she wasn't weak. She has brought out every word under the sun except for the word she knows I hate... well that is until now, she speaks 3 words "what's up F**ggot"  my blood boils, my mind begging me to let my alter ego come out as I call it but in reality, it's just the side of me that has anger issues, I  locked that part of me away a long time ago but now I think It's time I let her come out to play.
I let the heat from my anger spread from the sides of my head to my toes and I feel different knowing now there is no turning it back.

"Still picking on people smaller than you huh Jaidyn?" I continue before she can retort some cliche comeback, that necklace cost a lot of money and means a lot to me so you breaking it does not sit well with me at all, I say let the imaginary intimidation flames spiral and crash into Jaidyn but I settle for a simple smirk when it comes to my facial expression and I can practically see the wheels turning in her
Head. now if you would be so kind as to let me go I would be very appreciative.
Before she walks off I hear her mutter freak under her breath, I simply shrug it off and I go and collect all of the charms luckily none of them broke and the chain surprisingly wasn't that damaged so I put them back on and I clip the necklace back on and I sit down seeing all of the people's faces around me give confused looks.
I shrug it off and I grab my stuff and I head to math with the feeling that it's going to be a bad day since I already don't feel good and I feel very dizzy and nauseous, but non the less I walk into math and I take my seat laying my head down as a sad attempt to get the newly found pounding in my head to subside but next thing I know my eyes are closing and I don't have the strength to open them.

I open my eyes to the sight of the plain tiled floor but my nose finds something, I take a whiff of the shoulder my head is on but instead of getting the smell of mint and cologne that Signals that it's Zoe, I get a peculiar smell of boy sweat and slight deodorant, my Brain identifies this smell as Wyatt hubacheks.

Wyatt, why are you carrying me?
You fell asleep in math and Mrs.Griffin was busy dealing with one of Justin's outbursts so I came and got you.
Please put me down Wyatt, I don't like being held like this and you're crushing my boobs!
I feel myself being gently set on the ground but I feel a sudden jolt in my stomach so I automatically run to the nearest trash can vomiting into it and then I see black.
Nurse Madewell's POV
(A/N I couldn't think of another way to do this)
I'm doing the usual nurse things like give medicine, check kids, and other things when I hear the door slam and Wyatt hubachek comes into view holding a girl named Sapphire bridal style, he looks panicked so I quickly call to her current period teacher telling them what happened and of course I attract the attention of Zoe just like planned, she comes running in and she instantly sees Wyatt holding Sapphire.
She gives a territorial growl but like a good nurse I step in and I take Sapphire and I gently lay her down on a cot and I take her temperature amazed at how high it is, but her head isn't the only place with a fever her whole body is burning up and her face is flushed.
I also notice she's sweating abnormally so I call her mom but her mom doesn't pick up all 5 times I try to call her so I decide to leave it to Zoe.
Zoe's POV
I sit in the chair beside the cot and I gently brush some of her hair off of her sweaty forehead, I start to get worried when she starts wheezing in her sleep and contorting, but before I can say anything Nurse Madewell comes and give her a quick shot and Sapphires body stops all movement after a few seconds. I hear the words that I can take her home and or take her to the hospital, I gently pick her up and I carry her like a toddler and I walk out and I grab her backpack and everything and I throw the strap over my available shoulder and I walk out finding my car.

I throw open the door and I throw her backpack in the floor Board and I gently sit her in the seat and I lay the back down a little and when I hop into the driver's seat and I start the car I put the air conditioner on and I point the vents at her, as I drive I think about how vulnerable Sapphire looked and I can't help but get mad at myself for not looking after her health more.
