Chapter 51

Sapphire's POV

I finally put my phone away as I close my eyes hoping that I can get at least one more hour of sleep but of fucking course life hates me so right as I'm drifting off my phone starts ringing violently and I pick it up and my mom tells me that she's going to the mall and I'm going with her so she tells me I have an hour to get dressed damn mom way to give me a heads up I mutter and she tells me she's heading my way after work. Well, I guess I'm not going back to sleep I mutter as  I roll out of bed and I trudge to the bathroom to take a shower.

After I get all clean I head back to my room and I pick out a sleeveless shirt and a pair of shorts and I throw it on leaving my hair the way it is to air dry. LET IT BE FREE I scream through the empty house as I imagine my hair flowing through the Imaginary wind.

As I'm walking I come across a Halloween bag and I find my little lamb Costume Inside and I groan because I forgot about this costume so I try it on for the first time and it doesn't fit I KNEW I SHOULD HAVE MOTHER FUCKING TRIED IT ON I say screaming but then I mentally slap myself and I  decide to scrap the outfit and stick with the gloves and headband figuring I can incorporate this into the dress that I ordered off of Amazon and I'm about to try to sew something but I figure I can just use makeup to incorporate it so I leave it alone and I put the accessories with the dress and I sit down and I watch YouTube.

*ABOUT AN HOUR LATER*

I'm sitting on the couch watching Shane Dawson when I hear the door open and close and my mom stands in front of me just staring at me. I slowly get up and I grab my shit and I smile at her and she just smiles back and we walk out and get in the car.

"So Mom how was work?"I ask trying to make the silence surrounding us not so Awkward

"It uh was fine Saph"

This is the moment where I finally see the lines on my mom's face and the tired look In her eyes, it hits me that maybe my mom neglected me all these years because she works so much to provide for me.

"Mom.....are you okay?"

"Yes, Sapphire I'm okay!! I see her snap and then she reluctantly adds, "It's just been a long day is all"

"I'm sorry for bringing it up...I'm just worried"

"You're fine Saph I shouldn't have snapped"

I nod and I just turn the music up to wash away the conversation we just had and I hear body like a back road come on and I quietly sing slowly getting louder getting into the song but what I don't expect to see is my mom looking at me with her jaw open and with wide eyes staring at me.

You can sing?! I hear her say in a shocked voice and I just nod.

Since when?!

I shrug and continue to sing letting it roll off.

We finally make it to the mall and when I hop out I see a car that looks like Zoe's but my brain reminds me that there's no way she's here so I just shake it off and I skip to the doors leading into the mall and I'm immediately greeted with boys and men looking at me with this indescribable look in their eyes so I stick close to my mom and we head to Hot Topic because It's my favorite store and my mom stays in the Supernatural section while I look at the band tees. After suckering my mom into buying me a few Band tees we walk out and we pass Tiffany and Co I see ahead of Orange hair In the corner of my eye but when I look back it's not there and I get really confused, Maybe my brain is just playing a prank on me I whisper to myself...yea that's it it's just an illusion and Zoe isn't here.

Finally, after a couple of hours of walking around, we head back home and I doze off in the car dreaming of a certain princess charming. I wake up a couple of hours later In my bed so I sit up and I pull the hair out of my mouth I look around for the blasted device that woke me up and I see my phone ringing without checking the Caller ID.

"Sorry did I wake you love"I hear a familiar British accent say and I blush to say sorry
