Chapter 4 - Adam's Necklace

(Jerome's Pov)

I woke up this morning as tired as the nether. I was to busy thinking about Putty and what happened last night. 'Did she kiss me because she likes me or because she was sad' I questioned myself. I realized I couldn't stop think about it unless I asked her about it. I got up only to be tackled to the ground by Mitch. "Ha ha gotcha biggums"Mitch said while pinning me to the ground. "Please Mitch you cough me by surprise" I said while flipping Mitch over and pinning him down. "Hey no fair your a bacca your naturally stronger" He said while I was helping him up.

We ate breakfast and went outside to see for ounce Adam up. This is probably the first time in a year I've seen Adam up early, he always sleeps in so late. He was talking to Putty and Ash. After a while Mitch suggested we go hunting, everyone agreed and we went to go get our weapons. I pulled Putty to ask her about the kiss. " hey Jerome what did you wanna talk about?" she said in a peppy tone. "I... uh... wanted to talk to you about the kiss. What did it mean to you?" I asked slightly nervous. She stared for a moment then she kissed me. "does that answer your question"

(Mitch's Pov)

"Were are Putty and Jerome" I asked slightly impatient. "hey look over there" Ash said pointing to Putty kiss Jerome. We all said "ohhhhhhhh" when Putty walked over to us and said "shuddup". "ok ok Mr and Mrs Aceti" I said in a giggle. Putty gave me a humorous death glare and we started our hunt.(By the way Putty and Jerome are dating). We had gotten a huge load and were about to head back when we heard a scream.

(Adam's Pov)

We heard a scream. "who was that" Ash said looking around. "I don't know but the may be hurt. Jerome can you pick up the persons sent?" Mitch said in an ordering tone."I can try" Jerome said sniffing around until he found it and bolted. We all followed close behind. We ran for about 10 minutes until Jerome stopped in place. "why did you stop?" I asked motioning for him to keep going. "I lost the sent. It just stops here" he said slightly disappointed.

We stood there in silence for 20 seconds until Putty said "The sent got covered up by water, it's still there. It smells inky". We looked at her for a moment Until she ran in the direction of the inky water trail. After 7 minutes of running Putty stopped and put here hand on her head. "Whats wrong Putty?" Ash asked walking up to her. "My head... the fumes are starting to hurt my head" she said with a bit of pain in her voice.

We all decided to head back. After walking for a couple minutes Mitch pointed out "Were gonna be walking all night, I think we should rest here" we all nodded and Ash started the fire. Everyone fell asleep in ten minutes, Putty sleeping in Jeromes arms. I was about to fall asleep when I heard a beeping noise. I slowly crept over over to see... a squid?

But it was wearing some sort of suit to make it so it could breath. I decided it needed to die. I jabbed my butter sword into its main control panel then into the tank that held its water. All the water flowed out and the squid died. I was about to go back to our temp camp when I saw something glow inside of the squids suit. I picked it up to see it was a neckless. It had a amethyst center an a butter rim. I put it on, then the lace of the neckless shorten around my neck I couldn't get it off. I was to tired to think about it any more and went back to the camp.
