Chapter 9 - Walking, LOTS of Walking

(Sky's Pov)

The next day we had woke up at the crack of dawn to get a move on. Putty really was determined to get Ash back. Don't get me wrong I want her back to we've been friends ever since I was 9, but Putty seems as if we don't get her back she's not coming back either.

No one was really talking, it's just silent walking which is really boring. I try to bring up the mood by telling a joke but all I get is a a small laugh from Jerome followed by complete silence. But I understand why no ones talking, none of us know what to say. There really isn't anything to talk about and Jerome, who usually breaks the silence, hasn't said a word in the past half hour.

//Time Skip//

None of us thought that the journey through the cave would be nearly this long. We have been walking for two hours now and this cave is HUGE. It also has lots of different tunnels to go through and we keep picking the dead ends which means we have to walk out of the tunnel and into a different one. After more walking Jerome stopped in place and told all of us to be quite. Which was pointless considering the fact that none of us have said a word for most of the journey. Mitch slowly began to walk forward, he soon turned a corner so we could no longer see him. After a moment of silence, I could here someone scream then murmuring from a voice that Didn't belong to Mitch.

(Mitch's Pov)

I was in the middle of day dreaming when Jerome had suddenly stopped in place and made me bump into him. Jerome signalled for us to be silent which we already have been for hours but there was no time to question him. I started to walk ahead cautiously step by step. I slowly turned the corner and I saw a guy wearing a checkered hoodie similar to mine except it was Red and Gray. He was also wearing a pair brimmed glasses, his hair was a mess and he looked like he hadn't takin a bath ever. When he saw me he screamed followed by a question "Who the hell are you?".

"I could ask you the same question" I retorted lowering my sword realizing he's not a threat. "I'm Tyler" he said standing up and extending a hand for me to shake it. I took up his gesture and shook his hand while saying "Guys it's safe here". The second Tyler figured out there were others he instantly tensed up and backed away. It didn't help that Jerome was the first person or should I say bacca he saw. When he saw Jerome he backed up even more and gasped. The rest filed out but Tyler's eyes were locked on Jerome. "I-I thought you guys were near extinction " he stuttered out still not letting his eyes of Jerome. Jerome stared at Tyler intently "What do you mean extinct" Jerome said slowly.

(Tyler's Pov)

I'm surprised the bacca didn't already know. Where has he been living under a rock. I came back to reality and answered the bacca's question "There has been tons of wars between bacca's and humans all over the world for the past two years, your kind is now near extinction. How did you not know?". The bacca was still trying to process all the information I gave him so the girl standing beside him answered me "Jerome over here has been living in a village for the past 7 years or so and we also don't live close to here at all".

Then what hell are they doing all the way out here? I guess I hadn't said that in my head cause a kid with a amulet started to speak. "We've come all this way to find our friend Ash that has been captured by squids" I was with him until he mentioned squids then I burst out laughing. Squids? This guy has lost his mind. When I finished laughing no one had a smile on there face and they looked very serious.

"Well than I'm coming too" I proclaimed standing up "Thanks for the offer but I think we're fine" Adam said. "Come on Adam I'm up for an adventure" I said patting his shoulder then in a split second Adam pinned me to a wall and yelled "MY NAME IS SKY". Sky? Where did that come from. He realized what he was doing and quickly let go and apologized. "Tyler?" Jerome said after coming to grips of what I had said earlier, "What" Why did you call Sky, Adam" "Cause he said that was his name". They all looked at me confused. "Uh, no he didn't" Mitch replied. "Yeah he did. Just a second ago he said his name was Adam. Didn't you guys here him?"

They all shook there heads and looked at me like I was insane. Then the girl sighed and face palmed "It was probably the stupid amulet messing with him" she admitted. They all nodded there heads and agreed while I was still confused as ever. Ad-Sky explained everything they knew about the necklace and how it messed with his mind making him think his name Was Sky instead and how they can't get it off him.

"Who is Ty" I asked Sky. He looked at me confused then asked me why I would ask that. "You just said 'I hope Ty and everyone at the village is alright'. Or was that the amulet again?" I replied. "Amulet" they all said in unison. "It seems that the necklace tells Tyler all the important things I'm thinking" Sky said thinking out loud.

We all simply agreed with his logic because it was late and they were all tired. I told them we should sleep on the ledge because it's safer from bears. They all agreed and we climbed on top and a moment later they were all out. Damn they were tired. I drifted off minutes later thinking of that weird amulet but not before sky said "Don't worry Ash, Well find you".
