Chapter 16: Big Change

Shaylas POV

Today was me and Jayce's 2nd anniversary and to be honest I am nervous for what tonight is going to bring. Jayce said we where going on a road trip, but where we where going is for me to geuss. He said I should bring 3 days stay worth of clothes, so obviously we where staying there for a while. But he told me to bring a wet suit and I have no clue why, luckily I didn't have to buy one because I have one from going to British Columbia to visit my uncle at his lake. By the time I had finished all my thoughts my alarm went off. Slamming down hard on the on off button I slowly got out of bed trying to figure my way around my new bedroom. Over the past month both my parents had gotten a raise at work and finally fulfilled there promise to me about living out in the country. Crawly thing is I graduate this year, yes I know in only 16 but I did my grade 11 this previous summer so I can get out of the crap hole they call a school. After brushing my hair I got my riding pants on and a green hoodie. Then I opened up my door to my purple bedroom and walked down the hallway. Jumping on the rail I slid down it and ran out to the pasture untill I got to Willow. By then I had realized I had forgotten her halter so I went into the barn and got it. After slipping it onto my arm I picked up her lead rope and jogged back out to the pasture. Approaching Willow I carefully slid the leather material over her head as she has gotten more sensitive with halters over the years. Clipping the lead rope onto the halter I proceeded to lead my girl into the barn and brush her down. Once I had did so I led her out to the front of the barn and put the lead rope over her neck, then went over to the other side and tied it on to the halter. After a moment or too my brain noticed how shiny the plate on the side of Willows halter looked. It printed her name in handwriting "Willow". After rubbing my hands all over willows back I took a strand of her mane and put my back into her neck then I did a skip and hooked my leg over her back and used it to pull myself up. After getting comfier on her back I asked her for a walk then quickly asked her for a trot and repeated this step once more for a canter. Soon enough we were at my favourite spot, the lagoon at the very back of our property. Slowly asking Willow for a trot and then walk I noticed that the bench I usually sit on was gone. I guess I'll settle for just having this moment with my Babygirl.

Soon enough I was back at the house and in my room. I walked over to my makeup place and picked up the hairbrush, after running it through my hair once or twice I quickly changed into my tank top and shorts. I found this outfit most comfortable for getting ready. Walking back over to my make up place and turned on my streightner. After carefully running the device through my hair for what felt like an eternity I got the bobbypins and carefully bumped my hair then hair sprayed my head. Picking up my mascara I heavily put it on then moved over to my eyeliner after tracing my eyes a few times I then picked up my eyeshadow and put on some medium stuff at the top of my eye and light stuff at the bottom. After finishing up with that I went over to my closet and started to pack.

30 minutes later

After I packed all my clothes I chose a red mid thigh length dress, the licked up my black flats and went downstairs to place those and my red purse at the front door. Walking over to the fridge I quickly mixed up a protein shake and slurped it down. Running up stairs I grabbed my suit case and put it at the front door and then picked up my iPhone 6 and typed a quick message to Jayce

When will you be here? Your taking FOREVER!

I got a quick reply

2 minutes

My nerves are off the hook I want to know where we are going, but knowing my luscious boyfriend he wasn't going to tell me.

A few minutes later I heard the door bell and flung open the door. Just by the look on his face he was surprised by what I was wearing.

"So where are we going" I said rushed

"For a you know 8 hour drive" he said seriously

"Fuuuuuuddggge" I fake cried

"Just get in the limo we will be there in no time" Jayce pleaded

"Fine" I said with a pout

8 hours later

That was the longest drive ever but once we got here I was surprised to see where we where. Yes Jayce brought me to the lake cabin, he had met my uncle before so he asked if he could borrow the cabin for the weekend. And tonight we are going to the restaurant on the Shushwap. I have no clue what he has planned but it's going I be fun. We where leaving in half an hour so I headed upstairs to freshen up.

45 minutes later

We had arrived at the restaurant and where seated. The memories just kept flowing into my mind, the first time driving the boat, the first time tubing wake boarding knee boarding. Gosh I love it here, this is where I want to live if I have enough money when I'm older. After we had ordered our food arrived and it seemed like my world was spinning at a dangerous rate. Things seemed to calm down once we got back to the house. But something seemed odd about Jayce, he was fidgeting like never before. Not thinking anything of it I took a step out onto the patio and Jayce came with me. What happened next shocked the life out of me. Jayce got down on one knee and asked the question that would change my life when his voice spoke it shocked me

"Shayla Edith Carlago will you marry me?" Oh my god he asked it. This answer was simple I looked out to the sunset then I him and said back with so much passion in my voice It hurt

"Jayce Reed Pols, I will a thousand times over".
