Idea: An AU where you can communicate with your soulmate(s) through your thoughts. As you grow older, you learn to better control what they can and cannot hear etc.

The end of Part 2: "Alrighty. See you all at lunch. Gosh, I'm so excited for this!" Harry cheered, and other happy chatter filled their networked thoughts.

During the final period before lunch, all work was completely forgotten. Their thoughts were buzzing with excitement and nerves, no one could shut up about the meeting. Their voices all merged into one noise, they all spoke over each other. As the bell for lunch rang, however, their thoughts finally quieted down.
"Oh gosh, this is actually happening." It was Harry who spoke.
"We're meeting at that cherry blossom right?" Vik was the next to speak, earning only a hum in response.
"That's the pink tree by the football fields, right?" Simon's thoughts broke through soon after.
"Yeah, we'll meet on the football side of it. Not that it would necessarily matter but..." Josh's train of thought cut off, but they all knew what he was thinking.
"Alright. I'm here." Tobi was the first to arrive.
"And I'm here too. God I'm so nervous." Josh was the next one to arrive.
"Alright. We'll be there-" Simon's thoughts cut off suddenly, a barely audible gasp breaking through.
"Holy shit." JJ's comment was very short and quiet; it was hard to decipher exactly what he was thinking.
"What is it that-?" Ethan's thoughts silenced as well.
"Why is everyone stopping in the middle of their sentences? Is there something-?" Vik's thoughts were the next to silence, leaving Harry worried.
"What is wrong?! I swear if there's nothing wrong when..." Harry's thoughts dragged to a stop. Their interconnected thoughts were silenced, although each's personal thoughts were racing. It stayed quiet for a good few minutes, the quietest it had ever been.
Harry was the first one to break the the silence.
"Oh my god!" Harry's almost scream sliced into their thoughts as well as coming out verbally.
"Vik, you're so cute!" Tobi's thoughts cooed and a shriek from Vik filled their thoughts.
"Tobi! Put me down! You're gonna make me dizzy!"
"Harry! Don't hurt Simon!" Josh's voice held worry.
"Holy shit Ethan you look so cuddly." JJ's little comment received a giggle from the mentioned boy.
"Sorry Vik. You're just too much!" Tobi.
"It's fine Josh. I'm good. You're really freaking light Harry." Simon.
"Thanks I guess? You looked ripped." Ethan.
"I'm really not though..." Vik.
"What do you mean it's fine! You're on the ground!" Josh.
"That's because I am. Watch this." JJ.
"Don't you dare Vikram. You're so pretty and you're adorable sized and I could stare at you all day and still not get enough." Tobi.
"And I'm fine Josh! You're such a worry-wart. I'm very happy down here cuddling Harry. Come down here and join me." Simon.
"JJ! Don't pick me up! You're gonna drop me!" Ethan.
"I agree with Tobi on this one Vik. You're too cute." Simon.
"Josh always worries too much. He's a dad I swear." Tobi.
"I'm not gonna drop you Ethan! I pick up Simon all the time!" JJ.
"If you say so..." Vik.
"Oh shut up Tobi." Josh.
"And Simon is a twig compared to me! No offense Simon." Ethan.
"We're gonna have to work on your self confidence there Vik. You're too beautiful to not believe us." Harry.
"Why? You having fun there?" Tobi.
"None taken. But JJ could pick you up easy." Simon.
"Alright. But not right now. I'm comfy." Vik.
"Yes, thank you very much. And so are you so I don't wanna hear it." Josh.
"Fine JJ. Go ahead and try." Ethan.
"Come over here so we can all cuddle!" Tobi.
"Does that mean I have to get up?" Harry.
"Relax Ethan. I've got you." JJ.
"Please Harry?" Vik.
"Oh god, this is so nice and so terrifying." Ethan.
"Only for you Vik." Harry.
"It is the first time. You get used to it though." Simon.
"Yay!" Vik.
After the commotion had settled down, the boys all kind of piled up in a big cuddle pile. Harry and Vik were lying on top of Josh and Simon, respectively, with Ethan between them and Tobi and JJ on the edges. Their thoughts had gone mostly quiet again, except for gentle hums of content. That was, until Ethan started laughing.
"Sh Ethan. We were having a nice moment." Simon was the one to complain, and if you could see them you'd see Simon moving his head off of Ethan's shaking shoulder.
"I- oh gosh- I'm sorry. But we-" he took a break to wheeze in some air "we must look so weird right now."
"Ethan brings up a good point." Tobi's words echoed through their minds, getting grumbles of agreement from the rest.
"I guess..."
"Who cares?"
"Does this mean we'll have to move?"
"Hey." Josh's thoughts stopped the others' complaints. "How about we all skip school for the rest of the day and go to my house? I've gotten plenty of blankets, pillows, and space to make ourselves a little cuddle fort in my room."
"Yes!"
"I remember those, god they were so much fun."
"Do you really?"
"Yes please."
"Will this require work?"
"Harry I swear if you'll stop complaining I'll carry you to Josh's house." JJ's offer silenced the whining boy.
"Alright then. Come get Harry, JJ? Please?" Josh's thoughts spoke out as little murmurs of "move please" or "babe get up" filled their interconnected minds.
"Yup, I've got him Josh."
"You wanna lead the way Josh or should I?"
"We can lead the way together." And with this final thought, the odd group of seven soulmates all headed off to the oldest's house, excitedly chatting about "the most awesome cuddle fort in the world".
