Hello one and all. This is the sequel to my first ever one shot "Daddy Come Back", in celebration of 1K reads on it. I can't thank you all enough. The support is amazing, so here's to many more! Enjoy~!

By the time I made it home You were already in bed. Chubby cheek pressed to your pillow By a bedtime book you'd read. And I noticed that you looked older Than you did yesterday. You've been growin' up, While I was away.

Mitch knocked on the door, listening to shuffling inside before the door opened.
"Mitch!" Mat whisper-yelled, hugging his friend that had been missing. Mitch chuckled, walking into the room. Mat closed the door quietly as Mitch tripped over Rob, who merely turned in his sleep. Mitch made a small crash and Mat swore.
"Great going dude! You're going to give away the surprise!" Mat's voice hoarsely whispered.
"I'm sorry I'm a klutz."

You made a pile of leaves in the front yard, I guess it's already fall. By the look of those pictures your momma took The two of you had a ball. And it made me glad but a little sad To see those games you play. I missed a lot of smiles While I was away.

Mitch heard a small gasp and turned to the hallway. A beautiful young girl with Jerome's eyes looked back at him. "D-daddy?" Mitch smiled and grabbed up his daughter, noticing Mat's irritated look. He brushed it off and held his daughter close. He sent her off to get her dad, waiting to see his loved one again. Mat smiled now and listened as the two came down.
"I highly doubt you saw Santa." Jerome grumbled as they reached the bottom of the steps.
"Nah G, but she saw the next best thing."

And for every dollar I earn there's a lesson you learn without me there. And every day I'm on the go I'm prayin' that you know your daddy cared. 'Cause the hardest part about workin' hard ain't the bills I gotta pay. It's you growin' up while I was away.

Jerome perked up and the two hugged. They promised to never leave again, because they couldn't withstand it. Betty was proud that she helped her daddy. "Secret Spy Betty" won in her books, she got her wish. Mitch carried the girl to her bedroom, tucking her in and giving her a kiss.
"I love you Betty." Mitch whispered.
"I love you too Daddy. And you too Dad." She said back, rubbing her eyes and curling under the blankets.

And I found your note in the kitchen: It's a real work of art. A stickman holding your stick hand with "Daddy" written in a heart. And it got me good 'cause I understood Just what you meant to say. You've been missin' me too, While I was away.

Mitch thanked Mat, before heading into their bedroom and finding Jerome with a brilliant smile on his face. "Look at what Betty made me." Jerome said as Mitch sat beside him. He looked at the small picture and felt a few tears fall.
"She loved me? And considered me a part of the family? Even though I was gone?" Mitch asked as he rubbed a thumb over the hearts. They were written in crayon on the Popsicle stick frame, so the color smeared slightly if he wasn't careful.
"Of course Biggums. You're her Daddy, she loves you dearly. Every Christmas her only wish was for you to come back home. Every night she asked if you'd be back in the morning. She missed you as much as I did, and she barely met you." Mitch felt the tears fall and set the frame to the side.
"She could definitely pull off being our's, huh?" Mitch cooed.

And for every dollar I earn there's a lesson you learn without me there. And every day I'm on the go I'm prayin' that you know your daddy cared. 'Cause the hardest part about workin' hard ain't the bills I gotta pay. It's you growin' up while I was away.

They curled up for bed and fell asleep for the last few hours they could. In the morning Tyler and Betty were up early, making a ruckus. Betty awoke the two, surprised to see that the return home by her daddy hadn't just been a dream. She hugged him tight and smiled. Mitch chuckled and picked her up.
"How about we let Dad sleep? He's very tired and needs a break." Mitch said as the two walked towards the door.
"Uncle Mat said we couldn't open presents until all of us were down." Betty said with a pout.
"I'll tell him to allow Dad to sleep. He wanted me down there silly." They had reached the bottom of the stairs now and Rob perked up at the voice.
"Is that?" Rob asked. Mat smirked and watched as everyone's eyes lit up as Mitch walked in. They gave him hugs, Betty giggling and kissing her daddy's cheek every once in a while.
"You are just like your dad, Betty." Mitch said while she giggled.

You know the hardest part about workin' hard Ain't the bills I gotta pay. It's everything I missed, While I was away.

They opened presents for the next hour. Tyler and Betty being the most excited. Jerome joined half way through, sitting on Mitch's lap. Mitch wrapped his arms around his lover and kissed his neck. "I love you"s were passed between the two and Betty smiled. She had finished her presents when she remembered something.
"Wait, I forgot Daddy's present!" Betty squealed before rushing upstairs.
"Oh really now?" Mitch asked as she came back with a box all wrapped up sloppily. She obviously wrapped it herself, and it made Mitch smile. "I don't need a gift Betty. Being home is enough for me." Mitch said as he held the box.
"Open it at least." Betty asked with a pout.
"I think you taught her way too much Biggums. She's learning your ways." Mitch said to Jerome before opening the box. Inside was a picture of Mitch, dog tags and all. He had his red and black checkered hoodie on and was holding what looked to be a diamond sword, the words "Daddy Wins!" Sloppily written at the bottom. Mitch felt tears growing and looked in. Beneath that were his dog tags, which he'd given Jerome before he left.
"Daddy gave those to me when I was younger and I thought you'd like them back once you came home." There were a few awes and coos from the others and Mitch smiled through his tears. "Uh oh. Why are you crying?" Betty asked concerned.
"I'm happy. Thank you Betty dear. These are awesome." Mitch said as he hugged his daughter, kissing her forehead. She giggled and kissed his cheek.
"Now that's a daddy's little girl if I've ever seen one." Preston said.
"You are one, let's face it." Lachlan replied, smirking at the other.
"Whatever you say Lachy."
"Back on topic, what was your favorite present Betty?"
"My Daddy. That was the best present ever."
