Tommy's PoV (FINALLY)

I grab Autumn's hand. "Are you ready?" I ask my sister. She gurgles happily, and I take that as a 'Yes'.

"Okay," I sigh. I pick up our bags and open the window. I take a ladder that Fat Beth helped us get. She's a nice fatty.

Autumn helps me get the ladder down the window, and I throw the bags down.

"Ughhhh... What was that?"

I gasp. Maisey.

"Hurry, hurry, hurry! Mean Maisey is coming!" I whisper-shout to Autumn.

She giggles as she crawls down the ladder. I follow, and I'm down just as Mean Maisey enters the room.

She mutters something under her breath before leaving the room. I sigh in relief. Close.

"C'mon, let's go." I pick up our bags and head in the direction of home.

Or what used to be home.

We arrive at dusk, when the sun is just settling. We knock.

No reply.

I knock again, this time more desperately. "Answerrrr!" I moan.

"Dadddyyyy! Someone's knockingggg." Camilla calls to daddy.

I never thought I'd be so happy to hear my annoying sister's voice.

"Coming," I hear dad's husky voice and I feel excited. Dad! I miss him so mu--

"Who are you two? Is your sibling selling cookies? We don't want any."

Daddy tries to close the door, but I stick my foot in to stop him.

"What the heck kid?" he says, and suddenly he freezes, realising who we are.

"I want some cookies! Do you sell thin mints? They're my absolute fav-- AHHHH TOMMY! AUTUMN!" Camilla hugs me and Autumn tightly. Autumn gives her a sloppy kiss on the cheek and Camilla giggles.

"Ewww! Autumn, you wacky girl!" she smiles.

"How did you guys--?!" Daddy finally manages to put words into one sentence.

"Long story," I say, "But first, can I get some sleep? I'm tired."

"What? Oh, right. I'll-"

"I'll take them to bed." Camilla smiles sweetly. She's up to something. Whatever, I'm just tireddd.

As soon as Autumn is put into her crib, already asleep, Camilla starts questioning me. I dunno why but she always wanted to check out a children's home.

"How was it like? Do you have your own social worker? What about Autumn? Was the food nice? What about the kids themselves? Was there a boy cuter than you? Did you find a crush? Were you and Autumn separated? If so, was it because she was a girl or because she's younger than you? Was--"

"Shut up, Cam. I'm tired. Just get me to bed." I groan.

"I'm not done," she says, "Was there a little library for the kids? Were you bullied? If so, by a girl or boy? Were the bathrooms clean? Did Autumn have to do everything alon--"

"CAMILLA, PLEASE, LEAVE ME BEEEE." I yell as I put a pillow on my face. "Let. Me. Sleeeep. I'll answer your questions tomorrowwww."

"Fine," she huffs, "I'll go and find a piece of paper to write questions on. You'll have to answer them tomorrow."

She flounces out of the room and I groan. Why do big (and little) sisters have to be so annoying?

BONUS FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO READ ON: Answers to Camilla's questions...

15 questions for you!

1. How was it like?

It was okay, I guess. It would of been better without that hawk Maisey, though. She looks like, 99 but she's only 39! She needs to go get plastic surgery!

2. Did you have your own social worker?

Yes. Her name was Josephine and she was practically deaf. I had to repeat things 5 times before she understood.

3. Did Autumn have one?

No. They said she was 'too young'.

4. Was the food nice?

It tasted like school meals, just 3 times lumpier, mouldier  and grosser. Get the picture?

5. Were the kids themselves nice?

Umm, no! They kept on calling me names. Apparently all 'newbies' are always bullied.

6. Was there a boy cuter than you?

No. You wish. I was the most handsome dude. Seriously, girls swooned for me!

Okay, they didn't. Maybe they thought it would be embarrassing. But I know they liked me!

7. Did you find a crush?

...Maybe.

8. Were you and Autumn separated? If so, was it because she's a girl or because she's younger than you?

We weren't separated; luckily people always get roommates and Autumn was mine.

9. Was there a little library?

No. Unless you'd call a shelf with a few old classics a 'library'.

10. Were you bullied? If so, by a girl or boy?

God, your snoopy. Anyway, what did I say before?

11. Where the bathrooms clean?

Uh, no. They had gross, icky Brown stuff on the walls. Probably you-know-what.

12. Did Autumn have to do everything alone?

I wish.

13. Were there gangs/clubs?

There was one called 'The PFKs.'
I think it stands for Punky, Funky Kids. Or Pussy, Freaky Kids.

14. Did you have a foster mum?

No. No one wanted me. I wonder why?

15. Did Autumn share a foster mum with you or did she have her own one?

She actually had 2 foster parents; one single mum and one single dad. She actually got them to marry each other! Cheesy, isn't it?
