Kevin's P.O.V
My eyes fluently opened, and then I heard a voice, a familiar one, Abby. "How are you feeling?" she asks, as I am still trying to open my eyes. I was lying on the couch in my living room. "You...past out...during the attack..." she told me, stuttering. I looked at my leg, and there it was. The answer of why she was stuttering so much...
"What is this?" I ask staring at my new leg... My heart beats' speeding up and I could feel the blood pumping through my veins slowly. I frowned. "What happened?" And for some reason, I can't remember anything...Abby said I passed out during the attack. What attack? Did we fight the Form? I don't know. I can't remember anything. "During an attack? We attacked the Form?" I tried to calm myself down, but it didn't help much.
Abby's eyes started to get red, "Yes. We attacked the Form. But a guy, a teenage guy from in one of the rooms stabbed your leg with a rusted knife. We had to amputate it. There was no saving it. Trust me, I tried! You don't remember anything?" she asked worried.
"No. The last thing I remember was being in the car on the way there, but I thought...I thought maybe we crashed, but then I saw my new leg..." I sighed again and felt a tear slide down my face. The thought of not remembering anything that had happened....strange.
"Nope." she sighed just like I had, "We didn't crash. We attacked."
"Did we win?" I almost yelled interrupting her. She half-way smiled which didn't make me think very good thoughts.
"I guess you could say we did. But we did kill everyone. But Baron wasn't there. We couldn't find him. I guess he's missing. We didn't know what to do. You had fainted, we couldn't see him so we just left. Alec drove us back here. Holy has been trying to fix your hand, because you cut it on glass, I think." she said.
"Can I walk already with it already?"
"Yeah. Go ahead. Are you hungry? I am making some soup with bread if you want some. I am sure you're starving by now, huh?" she says.
"Yeah. A little."
Alec's P.O.V
I don't know what to think. Baron being gone and all. We were supposed to kill him too. So what do we do? Try to find him? Because I am damn sure we can't let him be roaming the Humans' land. because where we are, humans don't even know exist. I guess to the humans think this place is undiscovered and I hope it stays like that.
Pulling the covers over my head, I groaned. I don't know what to do! My mind is spinning like crazy. I am thinking so many things at once and I feel like I am going crazy too, not just my mind. I frowned and licked my lips because they had dried from being in the humid air under the blankets.
Unfortunately, someone knocks on the door, ruining all my thoughts that were running through my head. A knock on the door again. I groan and yell, "who is it?” I ripped the covers off of my head and groaned, forcing my body up. Now, I am sitting on the side of the bed as tired as ever!
"Kaely." she yelled back. I smiled when I heard her voice. I never really got a good chance to talk to her since the fight because of Kevin's new leg and stuff. I am excited, actually to get to talk to her again for the first time, pretty much.
"Come in!" I say, forcing my legs to stand still. By the time I stand up, my legs feel like jelly. I am that tired still. I could feel my heart beat and it is going super-fast. That's what happens when I see Kaely. She walked in and I smiled even bigger. I think I blushed for a second, but I am not sure.
"So," she started to say, "What are you thinking?" she asked. I looked over to my right wanting to avoid the question, but I can't do that to her. I can't block her out and not let her know. I'd be lying at that point.
I sighed and stared at her wonderful eyes of hers, "Baron," I sighed again, "How could he be gone? We technically didn't win. We did, but with him roaming who knows where, we can't really say we won. In order for us to really win, Baron's body needs to be all bones. No flesh." Kaely frowned and stared right back at me.
For a second I thought she smiled, but why would she smile in this conversation? "I know." she sighed the same way I did, "But we'll find him. I know we will. Trust me; he is going to be dead. But until then..." she trails off.
"Until then, we aren't a winner." I finished her sentence. "Yeah, I know" I told her kind of rude, "I just don't want to lose."
"But Alec, we already won! Don't you see? He ran! He was a chicken," she blushed and giggled, "He was too afraid to fight us. Why? Because he doesn't want to die. I mean, he's been alive for a long time now."
A sense knocks into me. She's right. She is one-hundred percent right. Baron ran and didn't put on a fight, he obviously thought we would win. I mean, he knew we were coming and he knew we were going to attack. But instead of fighting, he ran and hid. And now, he is... Where? Underground? In the city? In the humans land? But he can't live there, no way can he! People will notice... He doesn't age anymore. I just realized I won't age soon. Once I hit age 30, I will stop aging. All of us will. How long will I live if I don't die fighting Baron?
Baron is forever gone...
