Moving schools isn't easy. It never has been. I have been to eight different schools in the past two years and I still haven't gotten used to it. I always have to move because of my Mum's job. I live alone with her and my little brother. Mum is almost never home though so I basically raise my little brother but I know Mum is doing her best and she is only trying to give us the best she can.

The thing about moving school though, is I'm in high school. In high school, there is a social ladder. 'New Kid' is at the bottom of that ladder.

In primary school, when you go to a new school, everyone wants to be your friend but high school is different. No one wants to be your friend. You're the problem of being shown around, taking to classes and so on.

I'm currently sitting on my bed, trying to decide between two outfits. Tomorrow is my first day at my new school. Sitting on my bed, is a pair of washed out skinny jeans, paired with a black Tee or black skinny jeans with a blue flowy top and of course I'll wear my black converse.

I groan and throw the clothes onto my desk chair and decide to choose in the morning. My lunch is already prepared and all my books are stacked on my desk. It's only eight thirty so I have some time to kill before I go to bed.

I choose to hang out with my brother. I walk down the hall to his room and open the door a little. He is sitting on the floor playing with Lego.

When he spots me, he jumps up and grabs my hand, dragging me into the room, chanting "Play with me!"

I chuckle and walk over to the spot on the floor. As I go to sit down, a sharp object stabs my foot. I wince and fall over landing in the pile of Lego.

Michael is rolling around the floor, laughing so hard he can hardly breathe.

"This Lego is evil I swear!" I grind out through my teeth.

Michael sobers up and goes back to building whatever he is making, a grin still present on his face. I glare at those evil little pieces of plastic and rub the marks from my arms.

I play with Michael until he starts to feel sleepy. After sweeping the Lego into the box, I lead Michael to his bed, pull the covers up to his chin and give his sides a little tickle.

He giggles before yawning.

"Good night Mikey. See you in the morning," I whisper, planting a small kiss on his cheek.

"Good night, Allie,"

I close the door and almost run into my mum. My eyes widen in shock.

"What are you doing here?" I ask.

"Well I live here," she says, with a smile.

"I mean what are you doing at home?"

"I decided to take this week off so I can spend it with you kids,"

I smile and wrap my arm around her.

"You had better be off Missy. Don't want to be tired for your first day tomorrow,"

I nod and run down the hall into my room. I hop into bed and turn the lights off, dreaming about how tomorrow is going to be perfect.
