This is something I never thought would've happened to me. I never thought I would be sitting on the floor of a café, while three men forcefully took money from the cash register.

Chris and I are sitting on the floor, only a couple metres from the door. Two of the men are circling around, making sure nobody is calling the police. As they approach us, I grab onto Chris' arm.

They walk right past us and onto another man who has a phone in his hand. They smack it out of his hands and stomp on it. Pieces of the plastic case go jittering along the floor, the glass of the screen crunching beneath the boots of the one who stomped on it.

"Do you think we could make a run for the door?" I whisper to Chris. They're facing the opposite direction, the door is open and we're not that far from it.

Too bad that the entry is on the back of the building because there would be tonnes of people walking by on the other side. This isn't a very busy café which is too bad because it's really cute and I heard the food is really good.

"I don't think it's a good idea," he replies. "They'll be gone soon and then we can get out of here."

I nod. "But what if they start to take customers things?"

"I don't know Allie. I just don't know,"

"Okay. If you don't think it's a good idea, we won't do it."

He seems to think for a bit. He shuffles closer to me and looks behind him at the door.

"Maybe..." he whispers, so softly I almost missed it.

I glance at the door. Now the thought doesn't seem so appealing, considering all three of the men have weapons and God knows what they'll do if they catch us sneaking out.

As I go to tell Chris that I don't think it's a very good idea, he makes a run for it. I throw my hand over my mouth to stop from yelling out. He passes through the door and I sigh from relief. That is, until the door catches on his foot and makes a huge noise.

All three of the men snap their masked faces towards Chris. He jumps up off the ground and tries to make a run for it, only to be caught. Panic overwhelms me and I try to think of a solution.

A meaty hand wraps around my arm and pulls me off the ground. I come face-to-face with the biggest of the men. He is breathing heavily, his breath blocked by the mask.

"You two, are coming with us,"

I struggle to get free but he holds fast. He drags me out along with the other two guys to where Chris is. My throat goes dry when I see him on the ground.

"What do you want?" I say, trying to keep my voice as steady as I can.

"I don't know yet,"

I think that's the worst reply he could've given me.

"Is this your boyfriend girlie?" one of them asks.

I start to shake my head but think better of it and answer with a shrug. The hand on my arm loosens, relieving the pain that was starting to blossom.

I strain my brain to think of a way out. I inhale deeply to keep from freaking out.

"Why can't you just let us go?"

"Oh? Really? Because then you'd go to the cops and we would get busted. How dumb do you think we are?" The biggest replies.

"But we haven't even seen your faces?"

He seems to take that into consideration. "Okay,"

"Seriously, it's not like we're going to – wait... Okay?" I fumble.
