This has been one of my most eventful first days and lunch has only just begun. I go to my locker and twist in the combination in again. This time, the door pops open.
I smile and set all my books up. Once I've finished, I grab an apple and a muffin from my lunch box. When I shut the door, standing there, is the blonde girl from English.
"Hello," she chirps.
"Oh, uh hi?" I say, looking behind me, to make sure it's me she's talking to.
"I'm Hannah," she says with a little wave.
"I'm Allison, you can call me Allie though,"
"Hey I was wondering if you wanted to sit with my friends and I?"
"Really? That would be great,"
We walk through the cafeteria, through all the spare tables. We arrive at the table in the centre of the room. The one that has all the popular kids at it.
I've never been popular at school. Moving all the time and everything.
"Hey guys, this is Allie."
I give an awkward wave but everyone ushers me over to sit down. I take a seat in the middle of the bench and everyone else crowds around me.
For the remainder of the break, I hang out with Hannah and her friends. I learn all their names and we get to know each other.
There are four guys Ethan, Jakob, Chris and Aiden. Chris and Aiden weren't there. Apparently they went to find some girl that shoved Chris over during first period. There are three girls Hannah, Jessica and Emma. They're all so different to how I thought they would be.
"Oh by the way, there's another girl in our group. Her name is-"
"Hannah!" A high-pitched voice screeches from the doors of the cafeteria.
"Nicole," Hannah finishes with a sigh.
"Is that her?" I whisper.
Hannah just nods and rolls her eyes. From the looks of things, she doesn't really like Nicole. I can tell why.
Nicole struts over to us, dressed in a mini skirt and a long sleeved mid riff. I didn't think that kind of clothing would be acceptable.
"Don't say anything rude and whatever you do, don't get on her bad side,"
When Nicole approaches us, she throws her hand bag into Emma's lap and slides into the booth where I was sitting.
"Hey Nic. This is Allie," Jessica says, nodding at me.
She gives me a once over and raises an eyebrow. She is chewing gum and rather obnoxiously.
"Hi?" she says. I can already tell she is a snob. We aren't going to get along at all. Her bleach blonde hair, face full of makeup and high heels. Your stereotypical popular high schooler.
"Hello," I say with the fakest smile I can muster.
She turns away from me, looking at Hannah.
"Where's Chris?" she asks.
"Why?" Hannah retorts.
"Because I want to know where my boyfriend is,"
Hannah just rolls her eyes.
"I don't know where he is. He said he was looking for someone,"
Hannah faces her back from Nicole and mouths to me 'He doesn't like her'
