"Mila, that is wrong!" Chris retorted.

"What? It's not wrong!" I said.

We were sitting at a table in one of the rooms in the orphanage, and I was tutoring him. I offered to do so since it was my day off from work. I was confident in helping him with his homework until I found out that his homework was Spanish. It was the subject that I dreaded the most. It was my weakest link since I was in school.

I never got it right.

"Leee gusss-ta la man-zana. Man-za-nas es bu-wee-no.," ( He likes apple. Apple is good.)  I read from his book.

Chris shook his head vigorously, "No! No! No! That's not how my teacher taught me!"

"Mee gussssta el café! Chris, com-mo hamburguesa!" I added, teasing him.

"No! Stop it Mila! It sounds like a weird language! I'm scared!"

"Hollllllla! Cuáaaaal essss ssssu nomm-bbre? Mi nomm-bbre es unicornio! "

"MILA, stop!!"

I laughed in satisfaction while the little boy was pressing his ears with his hands in terror.

"Your name is unicorn?" asked a voice from the door.

We both stopped and turned to the direction. Lauren was looking at us, amused. I couldn't help  but smile at the sight of her.

"I thought you are helping him with his homework," she said as she was walking towards us.

"I am," I replied, grinning.

She pulled a chair and sat next to Chris. She ruffled the boy's hair lovingly.

"Did the Mila help you with homework?"

Chris shook his head, "No! She's been speaking a weird language!"

"No I didn't! He is trying to frame me!" I retorted.

"What weird language?" asked Lauren, glancing at me. Our eyes met and my cheeks heated up.

I grinned, "Lauren, meeeeeeeeeeh gusssh-taaaaah."

"Huh? What?" she asked, puzzled.

I leaned closer, "Lauren."

"Yah! Try to pronounce it more clearly!" she chuckled.

I paused and smiled.

"Me gustas."
