Vic's POV
I had organized somewhat of a war council to decide how we would get to Kellin. I was set to meet with Justin and Jenna later on so he could share with us how to infiltrate the castle, but for now I was going to plan a brute force attack in case Justin's plan didn't work. All of the best, strongest, most strategic pack members were sat before me, and I couldn't be more grateful that they were willing to help. Many of them had explained to me how they too had mates, and that they wanted to help because they understood how important a mate's safety is. I paced in front of them, carefully explaining the plan.
"This is only meant to be Plan B. Justin is going to share with me the primary plan because he knows the territory well, but if things go awry with that, I will communicate with you as soon as possible. It will be different than our usual territory attack because obviously we will be in the water. Tony is currently studying some undersea magic to not only help us avoid whatever they may throw at us, but to use it against them as well. Mike has set out to secure us with proper diving gear, and it will be altered to allow us to shift into our half-being, which is important because we can't entirely shift into our wolves underwater, so be prepared to half-shift. Practice that a few times before all plans are set to go because I know a few of you have yet to do it accurately and quickly. Time is of the essence here, so if you aren't prepared when the time comes, don't show up." I told them. They all nodded at my explanation. I showed them all the blueprints for the castle, which had been drawn by Jenna while Justin spoke of it. By the time we had finished going over and perfecting the plan, Justin and Jenna had arrived to speak with me. I cleared all of the members out, thanking them for their time, before I strode up to them.
"I want my Kellin back, so let's figure out what to do, and do it as soon as possible." I said as a greeting. I'm sure I had a bit of a crazy look in my eyes, but I was going crazy without my mate. It had started to take a physical toll on my body, making me lose appetite, weight, focus, and my skin was becoming waxy. All in all, I looked terrible, so they knew how important it was that we get Kellin back soon and safely.
"Alright, you should sit down," Jenna instructed, maneuvering me into a seat, "You need to be taking better care of yourself. I know you can't help experiencing the symptoms of a lost mate, but you not doing anything but torturing yourself like this isn't helping. Tonight you will not be staying up to devise battle plans; you will sleep, so you can be well-rested and energized by the time we set out for Kellin." I nodded, knowing that Jenna was always right. I had been staying up the past few nights thinking about and crying over Kellin. I was in desperate need of a shower and a nap, but that would have to wait for now. I looked to Justin, who had also sat down by this point, and waited for his explanation.
"I am an expert of sneaking Kellin out of the castle to escape his dad many times. This will only be difficult because we don't know what room he is in. My bets are on the west wing because that's where the least amount of people are. Everyone is in the east wing because the throne room, kitchen, dining room, and ballroom are. The only people there would be patrol guards and possible some maids. All his dad would have to do is add a couple guards here and there, and bam! A prison that doesn't look like a prison! No one would suspect a thing." Justin said, and my jaw dropped. It seemed quite easy. All we would have to do is get past the guards. I didn't want to let myself believe it was that simple, but I mostly trusted Justin, so I had to hope everything he said was true.
"Alright, so when can we go?" I asked eagerly. Justin and Jenna laughed at my enthusiasm.
"We can go in four days, on the full moon. That's when you guys have the most energy, and when mermaids have the least. It's perfect." I clapped my hands together in excitement and relief. It was perfect, indeed. In just four days, my mate would be back at my side at last. I would ensure that he was never taken again.
Look at that, I finally updated! It's pretty short, but it's hard to write in Vic's perspective at this point because most of the action will happen in Kellin's perspective. Also, please check out my new story, "Twin Skeletons". Right now the prologue is up, and I will be updating that on Tuesday. It will be so much fun, and I would love it if you guys gave it a shot. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this little update, and I'll see ya soon!
