Vic's POV
Kellin had been home for a few days now, and today was the first day Tony had allowed him to get up and walk around. He probably wanted Kellin to rest more, but my mate had thrown a tantrum yesterday because he was getting rather restless. Tony told me to keep a very close eye on Kellin as I walked him around the house because the cuts were still stitched up and healing.
I very carefully wrapped my arm around Kellin's shoulders and helped him out of bed. He stood up tentatively, look at me for guidance. I gave him a big smile, which he returned, before he took his first step. After that, he wasn't so nervous and walked out of the bedroom. I quickly followed after him, taking his hand and leading him to the kitchen.
"I'm starving," he whined loudly, so I helped him get out the stuff for sandwiches, laughing at him when he couldn't reach the bread on the top shelf of the pantry. My laughter resulted in having a loaf of bread launched at me by an angry Kellin. I laughed harder and went over to him, planting a sweet kiss on his forehead. That easily melted away his anger, and he pressed a chaste peck to my lips. We continued making our sandwiches, and when we finished, Kellin gobbled it down in record time.
"Did you even have time to taste it?" I teased, still chowing down on my food. He shrugged and replied, "I told you I was hungry. I never kid about food."
Just as I finished my lunch, Tony came into the kitchen and told us that Kellin should go back and rest. I saw that my mate was on the verge of a fit, so I hugged him and whispered into his ear.
"Don't worry, after I finish up some chores, I'll come cuddle." Kellin gave a defeated sigh and went back to the bedroom. Tony and I watched after him until he left our line of sight, and then Tony turned to me.
"He's healing quickly, and he should be able to be up and about all day, every day in maybe a week or two. However, his mental healing is a different story. I know you don't need to be told this, but be gentle with him." Tony said, firmly gripping my shoulders and looking me directly in the eyes. I nodded in response and pulled him into a hug.
"Thank you for taking care of him." I said, choking back a few tears. When we separated, I cleared my throat and got a hold of myself. I said goodbye to Tony and went to do those 'chores' I had mentioned to Kellin.
I met up with Jenna and Justin at the pool to check up with the preparations. Everything was going very smoothly, according to Jenna when I had called her earlier, but I had to see it for myself. I was greeted with a most lovely view when I entered the pool. There were white and pink roses delicately floating in the water, with the white signifying true love and innocence and pink for sweetness. My Kellin was both sweet and innocent, which is why Jenna convinced me to select those colours. Tiny spotlights were set up every few feet around the perimeter of the pool, giving the room a soft, golden glow. It took my breath away almost as much as my mate did, and I couldn't believe what a good job the two had done. They were stood at the back of the room, smiling brightly at me. I rushed over to them in excitement.
"Thank you guys so much; it looks absolutely incredible."
"We're glad you like it." Jenna said warmly.
"But you owe us in the future," Justin warned me with a mischievous gleam in his eye.
I gave them each a high five before heading out to accomplish one more task before returning to Kellin. I made my way to the beach, pushing the bad memories of the ocean before me out of my head. I scanned the sand very closely, until I found exactly what I was looking for. I gently picked the small shell out of the sand and inspected it. It was a light pink, with only a little chip at the edge, but that was okay. I pocketed it very carefully and returned to the territory.
