Walt pov.

"Stop fighting!" I said in a voice that didn't sound exactly like me, there was something different about it, something, powerful. I turned to Percy and the others. "What are you really?" I asked, my voice low and cold. "Why would we tell you?" Percy asked. I glared at him. "This is our place and you shall answer to us. What are you, Greek?" I asked. "Why would we be Greek?" Percy asked, Annabeth giving him a look. "Your dog." Percy looked at his underworldly pet and said, "Demigods, we're demigods. Now what are you." The cold, powerful feeling that had come over me washed away and I stumbled backwards, black spots appearing in my vision.

"Walt!" Sadie gasped and rushed towards me. What just happened?  I asked Anubis. I think you just became the Eye of Anubis, I can't be sure since you are my first host, but that would be my best guess. Now that the task that caused us to become one is past, you need to regenerate the energy that you have spent. Here. A cold energy flowed through me. It didn't make too much of a difference, but it cleared the spots from my eyes. Thanks.

"Walt! Are you okay?" Sadie asked, sounding distressed, gripping my hand with hers and using the other to half hold me up. "Y-yeah." I mumbled, having trouble forming the words. I didn't register how much weight I was likely putting on Sadie until I realised I barely had the energy to form words.

Percy moved towards us and again asked. "What are you?" His sword was at the ready, he obviously knew how to use it. "We're magicians, now get away from us!" Sadie screamed, glaring at Percy and the others, daring them to come towards us. She half helped, half pulled me onto the bed before pulling her wand, which she hadn't gotten yet, out of the duat.  She gave Carter a look and he raised his sword and walked in front of her while she drew a protection circle around me. Just as a translucent barrier formed around us she bent down and whispered, "Come on Walt!" She then kissed the side of my forehead and stood up. I could just see the murderous look in her eyes before she turned to glare at Percy.

Exhaustion swept over me and my conciousness faded.

Percy pov.

Annabeth's dagger had disintegrated along with plenty of other things. Walt had just disintegrated half of the room, then basically fainted, Sadie had freaked out and was now staring us down with murderous intent and we'd just been told they were magicians, which wasn't very helpful, at least to me, since I had no idea what a magician was past the one who did party tricks, and I'm very sure that wasn't the kind of magic they specialised in.

Nico was looking at Walt with fascination, as if he had just found out that Cerberus loved playing ball.

"There are two." Nico muttered under his breath. "What is it Nico?" I asked. "Walt has two souls, there's no doubt about it. The other was practically standing there when he used those powers. What he just did, that wasn't even the length of his powers I don't think, he just can't use them yet." Nico said, I wasn't sure how he'd figured this all out, but I didn't doubt him.

Still standing, there were three of us, and three of them. Nico gave me an urgent glance. "Cover me for a minute." He said, then turned around to the little girl. I held my sword, ready. Daring any of them to come towards me, they seemed to be in a similar situation, only keeping Walt from getting attacked instead of Nico.
I heard Nico brush the hair out of the girls eyes then he mumbled a single word. "Bianca--" I let a small glance behind me and saw that the little girl had pulled him into a tight, forceful hug, which Nico returned. "I'll keep you safe." Nico whispered and kissed her forehead before turning back to the others. He came and stood beside me, his dark sword in hand. He had a determined look on his face.
