Niall's POV

As I walked away from the cafe I couldn't shake the thought of Harry from my head. I know I jokingly suggested that he had feelings for me, but he shut the idea down so quickly... I was hoping maybe by "jokingly" saying it, it would be like those situations where 2 people are too scared to admit to each other that they have feelings for each other they just joke about it until it becomes obvious that they do... But Harry just dismissed the idea so quickly, there's no way he does. Shit. How could I be falling for him?

My phone ringing in my pocket shook me from my thoughts. Fuck, Derek.

"Niall Horan." I answered, trying to sound professional.

"Where are you? You haven't been in in days and the restaurant is about to become a disaster."

"Isn't it part of your job to keep it running smoothly when I'm not in?"

"Don't you dare talk to me like that, Horan. Get in here."

As he hung up the phone I switched directions to head towards my restaurant and try to sort out whatever mess Derek has waiting for me.

Harry's POV

I slowly unlocked the door to my flat and dragged my feet along the floor as I walked to the couch. What do I do now? Why did I have to suddenly develop feelings for him after seeing him one time? Maybe that's it. Maybe I don't have feelings for him. I just have a lot of emotions that are a bit scattered just from seeing him again after all these years. I don't like him in a romantic way. I've just missed him. That's all, right?

I paced around the main area of my flat as I tried to calm down. Why does this have to be so stressful? I need to do something to get rid of all of my pent up emotions. There's no one to go to with all of this. David's sleeping, I could never go to Madison about it, and Niall's out of the question. Why don't I have more friends?

Eventually I decided going out for a run might be my best bet and went into my bedroom to change.

After running around town for about half an hour, I saw a new large building up ahead of me. As I got closer I could see a familiar blond sitting outside with his head in his hands.

"Niall? What's going on mate?" I stopped in front of him, breathing heavily.

His head popped up. "Harry? What are you doing here?"

"I was just going for a run. I was wondering what this new, huge building was. This is your restaurant?" As my breathing slowed, I sat down next to him.

"Might not be for long. My business partner, Derek, has been in charge of this place for the last week and it's falling to pieces. He went on some crazy tirade and fired over half the staff. And I just found out he's been giving free food to anyone who comes in saying they know him. We're losing money left and right and service is so slow no one wants to eat here. I guess I can't fully blame him, it is my restaurant and I haven't been coming in to check on it enough, I just figured he was responsible enough to watch over it when I don't come in." Niall put his head back into his hands.

"I took a couple of business classes online for a while when I was trying to decide what to do after the band broke up. Maybe I can help. Or if you want, I can work here when I'm not at the bank... And I could do it for free, for a while at least. Until you guys get back to having a stable flow of money."

"Harry, I could never ask something like that of you."

"I want to do it, Niall. I want to help." I gave him a small, genuine smile.
