Prompt: Stable Boy - Part II
Dedicated to: vminpabo

It was getting close to night as Yoongi sat in the old library alongside his advisors. As much as he appreciated their advice, they tended to repeat the same matters over and over. Thus the reason his attention was directed on anything but them. He was most drawn to the large window that overlooked the castle gardens. Everything about the view fascinated him. He admired the hard work and dedication the gardeners put into them. The gardens were open to the people, after all being King he was quite busy. It would be a shame for its beauty to be kept hidden. He often watched as people strolled through them sometimes with their partner, with their children or even their dog. His attention today was drawn to a secluded area of flowers on the right. Sitting on a patch of grass were two males playing with a small dog. From where he was seated he could make out that the dog has curly brown fur. He looked over the two males, instantly recognising those raven locks as the stable boy, Jungkook. He was with Taehyung and both looked so carefree. He rested his him on his palm, softly smiling as he watched.
So lost in his own world he didn't notice when his advisors bowed and left. It was only when Hoseok had entered and nudged him, making him jump and sit up straight. Hoseok held back laughter as he spoke, "Yoongi? What you looking at so intently?" He looked out to where the young kings gaze had been focused on. When he spotted the cause of the kings attention he smirked, "Come, your majesty needs some fresh air. A walk in the gardens perhaps?" Hoseok had never seen his friend react so quickly to walking outside.
As the reached closer to where the two males were relaxing a small puppy gained their attention. The puppy barked at them, excitedly running over. Yoongi bent down letting the pup lick his fingers, petting it gently. Jungkook's voice made him look up, "Holly!" Both Taehyung and he ran after the said puppy. They reached them in seconds. The dog also noticing who it was ran over and rubbed against him. Jungkook picked up the small dog giggling as it locked him. He looked up and upon noticing who it was bowed, "Your majesty! My apologies." This caused Taehyung to bow also. Yoongi waved his hand, "No need to apologise." He noticed Taehyung who's s gaze fixed on Hoseok. They made eye contact and a blush formed on his cheeks. He looked down focusing on the puppy that was now biting on his fingers. Yoongi decided that he would question his friend later, too focused on how cute the puppy and Jungkook looked together. He tilted his head to the side, "Holly?" Jungkook nodded, "Yes your maj-Yoongi hyung. He belongs to the staff here at the castle." Yoongi smiled showing his gums, "You remembered? The staff?" Jungkook nodded again biting his lip to stop himself from shouting too loud, "Yeah! We found him outside the walls. Abandoned. I couldn't just leave him. He's only a baby. So I brought him with me and well we all fell a little in love with the little guy so we decided to keep him as a joined pet." Yoongi admired the younger's kindness, "If you need help just ask. Even if it's to mind him. I'm alone quite often and the company is nice. If either of you, Taehyung included, need anything just tell me and I'll do my best." He watched as both males glanced at each other having a conversation with just their eyes. Jungkook was frowning but Taehyung nodded encouragingly. Jungkook sighed and faced him again. He bowed, "If it's not too much trouble, could he sleep in the castle, maybe near a fireplace." Yoongi nodded, "Of course." He frowned after moment of thought, "May I ask why he does not sleep beside either of you?" Jungkook looked away embarrassed. Taehyung shook his head shyly, "Um no your majesty. It would be too cold. You see we um sleep in the stables." This surprised the king. He wondered why they didn't sleep at their homes, "Do you not go home?" Jungkook wouldn't look him in the eye as he spoke, "Well you see, we don't, we don't have homes. Our parents lost to battle at young ages. We lived alone. Couldn't afford it anymore so we camped out in the stables after work. The money we earn keeps us fed and clothed and Holly too." Yoongi felt something warm bubble in his chest. Without hesitation he made his decision, "You can stay in the castle. There are plenty of rooms and I'm sure Holly would feel more comfortable." Taehyung was the one who answered shaking his head, "Thank you for your kind offer b-but we shouldn't." Jungkook hummed in agreement, "We don't mean to burden you." Yoongi became his serious scary self when he meant business, "Let's make one thing clear. You are a part of this kingdom. Not only that but you work hard each day in the castle grounds. Without complaint and never ask for anything in return. You even help those in need without a second thought. You are never considered a burden here, not you anyone especially me. Both of you. There are more than enough spare rooms in the castle." He huffed ending the discussion and only looked up at a sniffle. Jungkook was wiping a fallen tear. Yoongi panicked. Shit, had he said something to hurt the younger's feelings. Jungkook took Yoongi's hand in his bowing lower than necessary, "Thank you thank you thank you." Yoongi removed his hand gently nudging Jungkook so he would stand back up. His hand rested on his shoulder, "Come let me show you where you will sleep. Hoseok please show Taehyung his room." Taehyung followed behind resembling a lost puppy. Jungkook couldn't help giggle at his expression, "Tae is so cute sometimes. I thank you on his behalf as well. He probably won't realise what actually just happened for a bit. We've been on our own for so long it's strange." Yoongi listened intently. He sighed, "You know you could have mentioned it sooner. I may come across as a cold King but I promise I'm not. Also this is your room. Mine is just two doors down." Jungkook looked at on in awe, "It's so pretty. Are you sure-? Yoongi cut him off, "Ah ah! Like I said you could never be a burden. Now get some rest. Goodnight Jungkook." Before he left the room his shirt was gently tugged at. The touch so light he barely noticed. It was the small whisper of his name that caught his attention. He turned to see Jungkook fiddling with his fingers, cheeks pink, "I just wanted to mention that I know. That you're not cold. I speak for myself and your people when I say that we know that really your a kind person. Hyung I've seen you help people too without asking for anything in return. I believe this kingdom is lucky to have such a hardworking and caring King. People don't think you're cold, just lonely." Yoongi frowned, "Lonely?" Jungkook nodded the blush deepening, "Y-yes. I have heard some gossip. Mostly of how other kings find a queen not long after coronation. I'm not saying to get married now, I mean many just marry for purpose rather than love which is a shame. People are just worried about your happiness." Yoongi appreciated his people's worry. He patted Jungkook, "I'm not looking for a queen." Jungkook frowned. He was naive but he knew the King would have to produce an heir or along those lines if the kingdom wasn't to fall. He spoke out these thoughts. Yoongi chuckled and stepped closer. With all the confidence he could muster he tilted the younger's head up, "Jungkook," Jungkook could feel his warm breath fan his lips, "Y-yes?" Yoongi smiled, "I'm not looking for a queen because I'd much rather find a King." Before he lost the sudden confidence he leaned in pressing his lips against the younger's. Jungkook let out a gasp but didn't push him away. When Yoongi pulled back Jungkook was practically a tomato. Yoongi laughed at his lost expression. He was so innocent it was refreshing, "Yes I definitely rather a King." Jungkook frowned, "But I'm not a King. Also we only know each other a short while." Yoongi nodded, "I know. I'm not saying we have to marry right away. I'm saying I want you to be the person I marry. After a longer time and when you're ready. Also you're not a King yet." Jungkook was dazed. He hadn't expected to like the King, especially not have the King recuperate those feelings. They both jumped when Holly deemed it perfect timing to let out a happy bark. Jungkook had almost forgotten he was holding him. Yoongi rubbed the puppy behind his ears, "Oh and look we already have a little prince. Might as well call him Min Holly now." Yoongi stole another kiss from Jungkook before walking to his own quarters. He let a grin take over his face when he reached his room. He could hear the loud squeal come from Jungkook's room. Getting ready for bed he couldn't stop smiling.
