DEDICATION:
This poem is for all those struggling with eating disorders or body image.
My pm is always open for those in need of help and support through recovery.
If you or someone you know is struggling with this, and is in need of help, do not be afraid to speak up in order to receive the help needed.
I am one person willing to help as much as I possibly can.
—The finger in her throat
Is what takes away the bloat. She wants to be pretty
To add fake creativity. One meal is to be cut in two
But she vomits before she can chew. Not even once does she eat a meal
And the hunger is "satisfying" to feel.Society is disgusting with its trend,
And this is what the media chooses to defend. But what you're not seeing
Is that this fantasy is deceiving."Skinny" isn't beautiful if it makes you sick
And agony is what you have picked. The ribs in your sides are not worth the pain,
Nor are the numbers on that scale that make you insane.Block out the whipping lashes,
And take control of what your future is.It's better to be thick and full of happiness
Than to be small and constantly depressed.Do not listen to the ones pulling you towards this sickness
Because you can learn to see what your true beauty is.Your outer appearance has a very small part,
Because what matters is who you are in your heart.—
