You walked in.
Your clothes of the newest fad
your hair perfectly styled,
your body toned and fit.
I turned away.
Typical bad boy.
Typical jock.
Typical indifference.
typical arrogance.
I just assumed.
She got up to speak.
Her eyes shining brightly,
Her face eager,
Her hands clenched,
Her steps unfaltering.
I zoned out.
Typical show off.
Typical wannabe.
Typical try hard.
Typical attention seeker.
I just assumed.
He put his bag on the seat beside him.
People were still standing,
The bus was crowded.
The old woman clung on for dear life.
The bus jerked and rumbled.
I rolled my eyes.
Typical selfishness.
Typical self comfort.
Typical wants.
Typical you before they.
I just assumed.
He turned to me.
He flashed a smile.
He offered his help.
He lent a hand.
I misjudged him.
She walked the talk.
She dressed according to her morals.
She practiced what she preached.
She gave the praise where praise was due.
I misjudged her.
The seat was wet.
Someone had spilt their drink on it.
Nobody had a cloth or tissue.
So you used your bag to mop it up.
I misjudged you.
Now the dragon's laughing at me.
It's rearing it's fearsome head.
But to its astonishment,
I laugh too.
I laugh at myself.
My close mindedness.
My stupid opinions.
My misjudgements.
I vow not to judge you.
Not to look at him, you, or her
judgementally.
I will NOT just assume.
