There are many things you've said to me,
Many things which you've done,
But it doesn't affect me,
Because I've heard the voice of truth.
I believe in the reality,
I believe that I'm worthy.
I think it's best for you to realize,
Don't place hopes in what you idolize.
The fantasies will let you down,
The thrills just spin you round,
But after awhile, you'll come down.
The flames of fiction will warm you,
but every time you leave with a parched throat.
Tell me I don't interest you,
I take that as a compliment.
At least I'm consistent.
I'm "ugly" 24/7
But I smile at least thrice a day.
It doesn't take much to interest me
And it takes lots to trample me.
I like being little,
Monsieur Monster,
I like to be a source of cheer.
You see, I don't need your approving grin,
I've found a reason to keep on livin'.
I'm living for them and for you.
Maybe someday you'll see
My reasons to continue breathing.
