Blast from the Past! *Currently Editing*

I AM ALIVE!... I think. I know that my brain must be dead. But after several hours on studying Greek myths, I am ready to start the next chapter!

I should have realized my one main problem. I was still new to flying, and I kept on brushing the tops of the trees.
"Dam! Dam!" I kept on repeating as I almost crashed several times.
I followed the strange pull until it was right under me. That's when I realized my other problem, I didn't know how to land, but I sure knew how to crash. After it felt like twenty tree branches against my body, I finally reached the bottom... Sort of. My leg was still caught on the branch as I was hanging upsidedown. I had to hold the robe to make sure it doesn't fall. The upsidedown looks on everyone's face was priceless.
"Could you guys quit gawking and help me?"
Both Cupid and Adam ran over to help. Which proven to be very little helpful. Will shot the branch and I fell on top of the two of them.
"Ow! You are very bony and sharp!" Adam complained as the three of us untangled.
I heard a laughter that sounded so pure and happy. I turned to look and it was Nico.
"What happened to you? You look terrible!" Will said as he looked me over.
"Well, I got lost, then attacked, so I flew away, and crashed into a tree."
"That sounds fun! You should do that again but this time have a epic finale of you dying." I heard a voice behind me that I haven't heard in years, not since I was in school.
"Ashley!" I spat out with as much hatred I could.
I turned around and I was surprised by how she looked. Her face was near white and her legs were mismatched. One was that of an animal's and the other was made of bronze.
"Dam! She is an empousai! I haven't fought one in years." Nico said and Ashley hissed at him.
"How dare you kill one of my sisters?! I will feast on your blood after I kill her!"
I pulled out my scythe and used the flat part to block her claws.
"I have told you many times before that I am male!"
I kept on swinging my weapon around, trying to strike her, and I heard the group back away from us.
"Now what was his name? I so wanted to eat him but he was lovestruck by you." She started laughing as she dodged my attack. "I remember! Patrick! You killed him!"
That struck a cord with me and could feel something pulling up from the ground.
"How dare you say that to me! You killed him, just to hurt me!"
I could hear the howling of spirits all around me as I fought her.
"You couldn't protect your mother! Why do you think you have any hope fighting against me?" That caused my blade to dip down in surprise. "Yep! You stupid demigods can't even tell the difference half of time if humans or monsters are attacking you! I had some cyclops buddies kill her right in front of you!"
I had a build up of wraith in me that I let out in a powerful scream. Wisps, ghosts, spirits, and various other beings of the dead came up from the ground and forest to attack her. I fell to my knees with warm tears on my face as she disappeared into dust. As the spirits left, I felt someone rubbing my shoulders.
"It is okay, just breathe. We are here for you." Cupid said as I touched his cloak covered hand.
"Am I the only one confused? Does stuff like this happen on all quests?" Adam asked and I couldn't stop my laughter.
"I wouldn't know! This is my first quest as well."
I brushed off the front of my clothes as I got up.
"Who was that and why did she call you she?" Will asked as we got ready to continue.
"She was a monster that attacked me when I was younger. She was the one to kill my human boyfriend and my mother." I didn't answer the last question.
I walked ahead of the group and Nico had to run to catch up.
"I quickly explained to him but I wanted to let you know that you are around good people. I don't know about Cupid because he is rude."
"How did you figure out?"
"You left used but clean bandages in the bathroom. That was hint enough for me. I was used to hiding who I am."
"Why do you hate Cupid so much?"
"I was on a quest a few months ago and Cupid forced me to tell one of my secrets to a good friend of mine, Jason. I had to tell him that I was gay. Living in the 1940s did not help me at all when it came to my sexuality." He gave me a look over. "How did your family take it?"
"I grew up with just my mother. She was okay with the fact that I didn't feel female. She used to tell me that I was born with an male spirit. When she found out that I was gay, she would make a joke saying that I was meant to be extra happy."
He smiled at me as we reached an large mirror. I didn't realize that it was the thing that was pulling me.
"I guess that this must be the next trial." Adam said as they caught up.
I walked up to it and saw that it was written in Greek this time.
"One must accept their pain to continue on their path of life. One must be left to accept death to leave behind the rest."
That is when I noticed the large spike sticking out with a bowl at the bottom of it. Before anyone had a chance to react, a arrow came out of what seemed like nowhere, and it impaled my hand to the spike.
"Brin!" They all shouted as the mirror changed.
"Go ahead! We need to complete the quest!" I told them as I was trying to pull my hand out.
Adam patted my back as he walked past.
"You better come back or I will find a way to bring you back." Nico told me as he walked by.
"Aye aye Captain!" I told him as Cupid and Will walk by.
My smile faded as the mirror returned to normal.
'I have accepted death a long time ago.' I thought as I closed my eyes.
