Stray Sheep?

Ok, do not ask, but I uh, sort of.. been watching people play the game Catherine, hence the story chapter's name. ((If you get the reference. Heheh.)) On with the show!

I stood off to the side as Faye was currently filling her luggage bag to the brim. With knight's history and relics. "Milady, must I ask what you are inquiring to do with this?" I asked her, as dresses and skirts were flying past my head as I currently felt like a coat rack.

"Oh, did my clutter-minded sister forget to tell you, Mofe? I'm going off for the month, to Ireland." She spun around, as her now-short hair bounced slightly while her smile covered every inch of her cheeks. "My destiny is to become a knight!"

---

I walked through the halls, rubbing my temples as I tried to tug the strings together. Faye is going to Ireland for a month, meaning either I go with her and leave Valorie vulnerable or do the opposite, thus leaving Faye ready for the taking.

But wait. I have no idea if Valorie is going along in the first place. I trailed quickly for her quarters.

-----

"Oh, yes. I did forget to mention that...slight information. Faye is indeed going to Ireland for a month, for training. A knight's camp, you can say." Valorie said calmly, as she moved her pawn two spaces, while her guest, our beloved new friend Luis Marren, who's father owns the shipping business, moved his left knight.

"I'm sorry Mofe. But I must stay here to take care of the business. Not dilly-dally with flowers." Valorie took her right castle and claimed a pawn. Well, I guess Faye might be safe there. I'll have to talk to her about this later.

But I smiled at the sight of Valorie having actual fun at playing chess with somebody her age. A genuine smile, I might add. "Ah, yes. Your...younger sister? She has spunk, I'll give her that much. Maybe she'll make a fine knight." Luis nodded, smiling. Then his smile turned into a frown as Valorie laughed at him, moving her queen.

"Checkmate."

----------

I stalked through the halls as I wasn't able to find Faye in the training room, bed room, or kitchen. I walked past a open door then stopped and back tracked.

I creaked open the door to see a lump on the couch in the library. It was Faye, in her white dress with blue as her chest was rising peacefully, a book telling about knight's armor clutched in her hands, laying on her mid-waist as the light through the window shined through.

I smiled at the image, as I went to the other room to grab a blanket as I gently draped it over her, while her sleeping face smiled. I creaked open the window slightly, as automatically, a blue bird Faye very much adored, flew in and nestled atop her shoulder, as if falling asleep with her.

I walked out the library, closing the door lightly, as I walked towards the kitchen about what to make for dinner.

---------

"Are you really sure about this?"

"Yes, Mofe, I am. I'll be fine."

"Don't let down your guard while your there. Demons are frequent in Ireland."

"Mhmm. I know. I've caught up on their mythological order and know what to take hint of and what to call useless. Besides, I'll be surrounded by people with weapons. I'm safe there."

"Ok. As long as you don't get possessed or anything, I won't be mad if something goes wrong there."

"Yes, yes. Now stop acting like my mother. Your my demon maid for pete sake!" She chuckled lightly, as I smiled. I loaded her luggage on the carriage as Valorie and Luis were off to the side, as they gave Faye presents.

"A good luck gift." Valorie stated, as she crossed her arms and looked strong, but just for a second. Her muscles relaxed as she smiled slightly, hugging her sister warmly. Luis walked up next. "Here. This is a little relic of ours to yours. May it help your destiny come true." He gave her a dagger encrusted in silver and carved in little markings.

"Thank you. It shall bring great honor to use your family's dagger, Luis." She nodded as he stepped away.

As she put her stuff to the side, I took this chance to lay my gift on the opposite seat from her as I stepped back, waving as the carriage door was closed. Faye's smile vanished in the horizon while we stood there for a good couple of minutes.

May she have safe travels.

Heh. Never though a demon would say that, now would you?

Faye's POV

As the manor was out of sight, I opened Valorie's box which had a cross necklace in gold inlayed on the plush inside of the dark little box. I leaned back into my seat as the cross hung from my neck, while I saw a gift sitting right in front of me.

I guessed Mofe put that there. I opened the small letter on it as her neat cursive loops entranced me.

Loving Master Faye,

May your destiny come true with the threads I've sown and the iron I've melded for you.

Safe travels, and good fare.

Your one hell of a maid,

Demon Mofe.

So yea, this is a little chapter. But I'll make better soon enough, my darlings.

May your dreams be filled with necromancy and your ideas soar as far as the Underworld.

Love your demon, Mofe.

See you my darlings of the dark.

-Mofe~
