Butler Dillan

"Might I inquire your name? At least so I can address you rightly." Valorie asked nicely. I placed down some honey tea in front of her as she bowed her head slightly while I stepped back.

"Miss, I... I don't quite have one." Quite? Oh, probably other then demon and wherever he's been before getting here. "Oh, well then. Let's have Mofe give you a name. She is the one that saved you anyways." Technically Pluto saved him, but I still looked at her in mock surprise.

"Milady... Are you sure?" She turned in her seat slightly to look at me as a smile was planted on her face, a small glint in her eye. "I'm positive. Now hurry up, I've got a fashionable boy named Luis downstairs waiting for a game of chess." Ah, now I see.

"Very well, Mistress Valorie." I closed my eyes for a moment, thinking lightly as I had a name stick. "Dillan. It's quite...fetching." She smiled, tapping her chin as her head slowly nodded. "Indeed, it is quite a name Mofe. It really is."

"Now, Dillan. If you become part of the staff here, you must keep a secret from them, except Mofe, and all guests, depending on who knows or not. Well, I guess you could consider two secrets then. Mofe, as you already can tell, is a first-rate demon that had run from hell on purpose, hoping never to return."

I quaked, but otherwise kept my mouth zipped. "And you are obviously a demon as well. These are of upmost importance. So if you ever reveal these to.... outsiders.... we will dispose of you. Quietly, to the point of no one even remembering your name."

Dillan, looking shocked to the point of no return, nodded. But as he nodded and turned away, I grinned. His shudder was still visible to the eye.

----------

"So here is your uniform and schedule.... You can follow it or stray away, just get the job done at least before Miss Valorie notices. Believe it or not, she could care less if you chose a different uniform, just consult her first before you change. I had that problem before too."

I stopped to the door next to my room. "This is where you'll be staying. You are welcome to see me at anytime if you are concerned with anything. Please, knock first." He smiled, which shocked me at first but I came to a conclusion that he spent most of his time around humans, like I did.

"Thank you Miss Mofe-" "Just Mofe." "Mofe, for all that you've done for me. From the time that you found me to giving me a job that I most likely don't deserve." He bowed as I stepped back. I ran my hand through his soft, white hair, like mine, as my hand had recoiled in shock towards my body.

"That's......just my job."

---------

I smiled as Sebastian blinked. It was a simple little glare-off, that could have gone on for years, if not for Dillan still standing behind me. "Mofe, my love. Why is there another demon here?" Sebastian seethed, his vision flickering between me and Dillan who was looking scared and confused.

"I just found him outside in the pouring rain a day ago. He has a....small debt to repay." Sorry Dillan. If it were to see Sebastian get flustered like this, I would blame you all the time. Though I think I only feel joy in Sebastian simmering in his own jealousy. Not Dillan's shock and confusion.

"But-" "It's ok Dillan. Now, Sebastian, if I had known any better, I thought you were jealous or something of the sort. It's not like I'm playing with him in bed." I smirked, hiding my blush over the use of that sentence, as his mouth was a thin line.

"Now please excuse us. We have more work to do."

-----

"Mofe. Do you have a moment?" I stopped, a rag in my hand, as I turned sideways to see a distressed Luis. Seems like we forgot that he was there when I brought in a bloody and bruised Dillan, just to have him somewhat healed almost completely yesterday.

His hand was beckoning me towards the game room as I closed the door behind us. I guess he needs to know the truth. "What is it, Lord Luis?" His hand ran through his light brown hair, his blue eyes sparked with nervousness.

"I'm going to ask Valorie for her hand." I gasped, I just couldn't help myself. "So soon, Milord?" He looked at me, chuckling nervously. "It has been almost a month. I just feel like....it's time." I smiled at him. "It is true though. She does seem to like you very much. It might just be right for you to ask now. Before she changes her mind or loses interest."

He laughs, then looks at me. "Also, Mofe. She told me about you. How your a...demon and everything. I'm perfectly fine with that, but please, stray as much time as possible." Now I looked stressed. "I'm not sure I can do that, Milord. My stomach is....how do you say it.......having a mind of it's own. Without the sisters right now, I could very possibly die."

He looked at me in despair, as if pitying me. "Oh Mofe....If only I could help you in some way. Can't you bend a contract or anything?"

That made me think.

Can you really not break a contract?

---------

After the serious talk with Lord Luis, I was giddy with excitement and dreaded with suspicion. I feel as if I'm loving the sisters too much, that I might get attached to them before I fulfill their contracts, thus regretting taking their lives.

I heard footsteps behind me as Dillan walked up.

"Are you really serious Miss- I mean, Mofe? Do I repay a debt to you, in any way possible?" His puppy eyes sunk a stone in my stomach and made me flutter like a butterfly. "Of course not." I smiled, as if affected by nothing right now.

"If I didn't say that then, he probably would've kicked you out to the curb or kill you." Aside from my some-what serious tone, he nodded, understanding. Then his face filled with a smile, not quite reaching his eyes, as he looked relieved in some way.

He grabbed my hands in absolute praise while I was embarrassed.

"Mofe, you are truly the most amazing and most kind demon I've ever seen in my lifetime. I bet the man you cherish loves you very much and is very lucky." I gaped, a little taken back, as I looked towards the wall.

I crossed my arms, my cheeks feeling slightly warmer. "I don't have that.....kind of man. I'm still eligible." He looked shocked now as he smiled. "Really now? That's quite interesting..." He leaned in close and planted a kiss on my cheek, sending flames throughout my skin.

"Now, Mofe, I must go. If I want to stay, I have to do the correct job." While he walked away, I stared at his back, speechless. As if words could tell what I am feeling right now.

----

"Mofe, that butler, Dillan. I know what he's doing to you. He's trying to stray you. I advise you to-" That's it. I stopped listening to him as I put the last book on the shelf, then turned on my heel towards Sebastian, as he stopped mid-way, surprised.

I had a grim face on as he looked at me, waiting for me to speak. "Of course. You advise me of this, tell me of that. I swear, he's just a butler around here.. Maybe even just a footman. What's with all this nonsense saying he's evil? Aren't we the same after all?" I kept my voice calm, as he looked like he was about to faint.

"Well, it's just enough to say that he might-" "Might what? Might be a spy of my father's? As if. Pish-posh, wish-wash. I could care less anymore whether my father knows where I am or not." I gulped, taking in a fresh breath of air.

"If you can't even enjoy me having another demon around here, much less a male one, maybe you shouldn't visit anymore."

"But I'm just trying-"

"Trying to protect me? I've gone through worse." I growled all the sudden, as my eyes flashed bright red and my shadow probably looked demonic. "Now go and return to your master in utopia, Bassy. I've got more important tasks to do rather than looking after a demon having a tantrum."

His face, heartbroken and disappointed, disappeared in the shadows.

Then as the weight of what I just said weighed down my weary face, I decided, what the hell.

I have no emotions.
