The Girl in the Stars

"Hello there. Have you been waiting for me?" I snarled at the wolves, as their teeth were gleaming. I dashed for the trees and looked behind me as only two were following me. So I'm not their target? They couldn't possibly-"Ahhh! Wolves!!" I skidded to a stop as I jaw-jacked one and grabbed the other one's tail, swinging it into a tree as I bit my lip, a fine line of blood trailing down my chin as I growled.

Going after my master was a nasty trick. I'm guessing the same is happening at the manor. Good thing I left the other crew behind, they learn quick enough. I zipped around and dashed back towards the garden where I stopped, as I heard laughing.

I looked to my side, momentarily forgetting about the wolves, as a girl with a light blue captain's dress with gold trimmings and black pigtails sang and danced in a pond, lit by the opening with the midnight sky clear as glass, no clouds in sight.

One pigtail was pulled up by a rose scrunchie, while the other had skulls on it...creepy. Her neck had a light blue and gold-rimmed choker with a red heats and attached to her sleeves with red thread was masks that had one eye covered and the other with the mouth covered.

"Ring around the rosie! Pockets full of posie~ Ashes, ashes, WE ALL FALL...DOWNNNNN." She laughed at the gruesome song while her dress twirled and twist around her pale legs, the size of sticks as I shook my head and kept running towards the Barreck Manor.

I didn't even notice that she stopped and grinned like the Undertaker while I zoomed away, her eyes blazing.

I jumped through the broken glass of the sliding door as the chandelier, I guess, had fallen to the ground when the wolves entered. I couldn't see a thing except for the occasional running bodies under the candles that were lit on the stairs and in the halls, screaming as none of them noticed the front doors standing wide open.

I knew using my power to turn the lights on was a bad idea, but I grinned. No one would be able to see me until after the wolves had gone. From then on, I could be a ghost killer, but I have to be careful.

I felt my eyes glow red as I saw the auras of everything around me.

Then I started the hunt for wolves.

-----

Five minutes later, I pat my hands together as the last of the wolves pack had been thrown across the back yard, probably into another forest, considering the long howls in the distance as they were in the air.

I knew they had another chandelier up on the ceiling but I wanted to be like Sebastian's performance in the Trancy Manor back then with the costume party, so I started chiming the glasses of water, making everyone stop as the candles on the chandelier lit, one by one. I didn't need to look at the glasses as I had per scripted every single note and move from Sebastian's performance to mine, memorizing the notes perfectly, straight to the last high pitch.

Everyone clapped as I walked down and people gathered. "By the way, Gabriella, you never told us which company you work for. Please do tell us before you leave." Valorie smiled as she waved her fan, then shut it close, revealing her grin.

"We were sent by the Seccureme's to check up on the Barrecks. They planned this down to the very last inch of space. Please do forgive their absence. Now, come along Mitch! We must be going now, before it turns to dark to be riding in a carriage. They do hope this was a great ball everyone!" She announced, as everyone laughed and clapped, giving us their response.

"Oh, but one moment Gabriella Thornton and Mitch Neolight. I'm afraid I have missed most of the ball and haven't been introduced to you both yet." We turned around to see the girl in the star-lit pond. Valorie shook her hand as I kissed her palm, while she introduced herself.
