Confrontation

" Mofe, she.... She has no emotions, Lady Valorie. It's as if talking to a robot." I felt my eyes tear up just slightly.

"I....I noticed that. It was after Sebastian stopped showing up, right? He mysteriously stops visiting and or giving us a call and she starts acting like this. It seems like Faye's return has made it even worse too." She looked nervously at Luis.

"It was also after Luis proposed to me." Luis shook his frantically. "I spoke to her before then and she was perfectly peachy and happy for us! It has nothing to do with the engagement, I swear." He said speedily, his hands frantically motioning everywhere.

"Dillan." Valorie looked at me with resolve in her voice." Bring Mofe to us this instant."

-------

Mofe walked in behind me, her bottom face covered by a scarf. "Mofe. What's the meaning of that?" Valorie pointed past me to the scarf as Mofe stared lifelessly back. "I order you to show me." Mofe's eyes glowed as slowly, her hand was wrapped in the scarf. Valorie squeaked.

Mofe's mouth was cut up, as if small little daggers danced upon her face, leaving their trail as it disappeared into her blouse. "This isn't all, is it Mofe?" Again, Mofe just stared, not answering nor moving. I then noticed how her attire was, with a long-sleeve blouse, low-cut skirt, stockings, and high boots along with gloves.

Her hair was also down, not braided in the front or put in a low ponytail, just down. Like hiding her neck on purpose or something. Her arms were itching towards her back, barely noticeable. I nodded to her back as Valorie noticed.

Valorie stood up slowly and circled to behind Mofe as she lifted up her shirt, while Luis and I looked away. As Valorie gasped, we quickly gathered behind Mofe to see bandages covering most of her torso and in black letters 'MONSTER' scrawled across her back. Most likely in her own blood that had been spilled.

Surrounding the word was burnt skin in the shape of a small cross, like the one that had been hanging from Faye's neck.

"My necklace....and Luis's dagger...She is trying to hurt you with our gifts, Mofe. Why don't you react?" Valorie said, tears brimming in her eyes as Mofe had a slight panicked look then went blank again. "Please....Mofe...." Valorie hugged her from behind as Mofe turned her head, still shocked with her mouth slightly agape.

"Come back to us....Please be happy once more..."

---

Blackness. Nothing but dark rooms with no meaning.

Like my life."Please be happy once more....." The words pass in my head and then vanish.

I try to close my eyes, close my world inside but I cannot. Bright white letters have surrounded me in my closed space of solitude. Please. Why? I am not like you humans. Why do you fret over me so? As the letters entwine my body in tangles, I see someone that looks like me.

Wait no...That's not me, for I am not a boy. Dillan. Dillan? Why is he here? Death. Death? Death for Dillan? No... Not someone I can relate too. Why must you always take away the people closest to me, life?

I have named this child of the night, given him a job and has saved his life, even protected him from my love.

No More.

I turned around and engulfed my master in a big hug as she gasped, shocked while I chuckled. "Breathe mistress Valorie. You are not choking, I hope?" She smiled up at me through her tears. "Not at all."

My eyes widened as I suddenly remembered and threw Dillan to the ground as a bullet whisked through the window and dug into the carpet of the study room. Grell had told me a few days ago that Dillan had a short life span with us and I ordered him to spit out when. I guess in all my daze I did not want to save anybody.

Dillan shuddered and held onto my waist as I picked up the bullet and threw it out the hole in the window as I heard a sickening groan come from the man outside. "M-Mofe?" Dillan chattered through his teeth as I stroked his head, smiling. "Your fine, now get up. This is not a position a butler should be in infront of his own masters."

He quickly regained composure as I stuck him away from the windows with my masters. "Keep them safe, Dillan. I shall be right back." I jumped out the second floor window as I saw the man crawling away with a bullet wound in his left leg.

I grabbed him by the collar and dragged him to meet my eyes. His face was a plaster of pure shock and terror. "Your not getting away so easily now..." I was cut off as a bullet went through his head and blasted open, splattering me in blood all over as I dropped the corpse, grunting in disappointment.

I should've known that there would be another one to dispose of any captives, and probably another for that one if he had been caught. Next time, I thought to myself as I jumped back up into the study as three pairs of eyes stared at me in disbelief.

"I am sorry, Mistress Valorie. I was unable to capture a captive for information." She shook her head and smiled down at me as I kneeled in front of her, blood dripping down my chin and into my collar of my bloodstained clothes as she shook her head. "As long as you are fine, then I am glad, Mofe."

That is right. I am not a emotionless demon. I remembered as I felt a slight ping in my side.

I'm the demon that rose out of hell on purpose.

 -----

As I was walking toward my room to retire for the night, Dillan popped up right next to me. "Mofe. Words cannot express how thankful I am for you saving my life. How can I repay you, in any way?" His words said one meaning but clearly his eyes shone another meaning. "Don't die." I simply replied, as I opened my door to stop abruptly, Dillan crashing into my rigid back.

"Mofe, what's-" He looked over my shoulder as Faye sat there in one of the chairs with Sebastian looming over her, grasping her shoulders tightly as if something might go wrong if he let go.

"Well...." I choked a little as I could see Sebastian's eyebrow twitch in wonder, probably noticing my scars, "What have I done to gain such an odd and unexpected visit on this particular night?" I crossed my arms, trying to hide the fact that I was uncomfortable with them in my room. My heartbroken loss of love and my almost murderer of a master.

"That is quite an odd question to answer so particularly." Sebastian replied, as he sighed. "But simply put as, I caught your master, Faye, trying to do black magic. Again.." Now I was one to have the confused look as Dillan had already disappeared from sight.

"Again? Is she some sort of mage now instead of a noble knight?" I growled the last words but refrained myself any further to let Sebastian continue, as Faye frowned at how I seemed to be full of emotion again.

"It might be indeed the case, but she says otherwise." He looked down towards her as she snorted, almost as if she were chuckling.

"A mage? Hmph, my talent's are better then of a mage's. In more simpleton terms..." She paused, looking at us both then keeping her gaze on me, for my reaction,

"I have joined a cult."
