Everyone was rushing around in the servant quarters as I stood there, dumbfounded. Miss Mofe stopped in front of me and crossed her arms. "Mofe, what is the meaning of this?" I gestured to the clamor as she put a hand on my shoulder, her face expressionless.

"Our other master, Faye, is coming back today from her trip. She went to go training on as a knight and we are celebrating her return. Now come and help Dillan." She said, as she walked away to continue on with the plans. I felt a shiver up my spine because the way she was talking.

I think she lost her feelings.

"Faye, my sister! Oh, how I missed you!" A girl with purple hair and blue eyes, whom I presume is Faye, steps down from the carriage with a 6-foot sword sheathed on her back, encrusted with crosses and a handle that is red-gold. She smiled as she hugged Lady Valorie but frowned at the presence of Mofe.

"I'm glad to be back, Valorie." She kneeled down and held her sword in front of her, surprising her sister. "From this day forward, I, Faye Seccureme, vow to protect my sister, Valorie Seccureme, from any upcoming faults or dangers. This is my knight's code."

I held a towel in my hand as I went to go get Pluto ready for a wash when I stopped near a open door. I peered in to see Faye holding an encrusted silver dagger to Mofe's throat as Mofe is cornered in between two bookshelves. Her face and body were rigid, as she looked like it wasn't phasing her in the least.

"I know your true intentions, demon. You aren't getting the best of me now. No matter what, I won't let you kill me and my sister, not after how much our lives have been progressing." She threatened, the knife so close I saw blood trailing down Mofe's neck. It was black.

Faye laughed crudely. "It is true, isn't it? You filthy creatures are nothing but a black abyss, swallowing up innocent lives." She stepped back as she wiped the stained blade on Mofe's sleeve. "Clean yourself up, monster. I don't want my sister seeing a useless monster like you stained."

Mofe bowed, and I noticed her eyelids were drooped, as if she were too tired to keep them fully open. "As you wish, Master. I have no complaints." This made Faye stand back, shell-shocked, as she gained composure quickly.

Faye clutched her golden cross necklace and she rushed towards the door, as if breathing the same air of a demon is contagious. I quickly retreated into the shadows as she passed me like I had no presence.

Once her steps weren't heard anymore, I walked into the library to see Mofe gone, only a little stain of black on the red carpet from where she was standing.

-------------

I can't believe it came to this.

I stood in front of Lady Valorie and Lord Luis as they stopped mid-way in their match of chess, a engagement ring clear on Valorie's finger.

"What is it, Dillan? Is something the matter? Then ask Mofe." She said casually, as I looked behind me to make sure the door was closed and us three were alone. "I cannot do that, Lady Valorie." "Why not?" "Because..." I gulped as my worriedness showed on my face as Valorie stood up suddenly.

"Did something happen to Mofe again? Is it Sally?" Sally? Again? "Your sister, Faye.... I accidentally stumbled upon her threatening Mofe in the library earlier. And when Lady Faye arrived, it was as if once she saw Mofe, she looked disgusted."

Valorie looked distressed by this, as just the same, Faye walked in. We all stood rigid as Faye looked me up and down, not noticing my pose. "Who's this fancy boy? And why does he look like....Mofe....so much?" Even when Faye was pronouncing her name, it sounded like she was tasting something foul. Valorie and Luis noticed that too, by their glances.

"Mofe, our darling maid of the night, found him in the pouring rain during a day we were hunting and Pluto got loose." Faye eyes crunched at the mention of Pluto also. It's clear she's currently not having a fancy over demons or demon hounds right now.

"Faye....I overheard that you were threatening Mofe earlier....why is that?" Faye's eyes popped open as her hair looked like it changed color. "That.....bitch. She told you, didn't she?! I'll kill her. Demon filth." Her glare was a scary as her change in mood.

Valorie stepped back, shocked, as she shook her head. Luis came up next to her and he comfortingly wrapped his arms around her, as if he was shielding her from the foul change in her sister. "Faye.....What happened....?"

Faye looked at her sister as if heart-broken, and yet, when she stepped forward, Valorie stepped back into Luis's securing chest while his grip tightened around her. Faye's face turned stone-cold as she spat out her words. "I grew up, that's what. Who cares about revenge. I've got power. I'm not letting a demon take that away from me." She gripped her dagger from behind her, as her gaze flickered towards me.

She grinned, as if the thought delighted her. "I get it. Your one of them. Come to steal my sister too, eh? I won't let you." In one swift move she was at my throat, her blade in one hand, her other hand on my adam's apple, pushing me towards the wall forcibly.

"I could just crush your adam's apple right now, clean and swift. But I don't want your tainted body on the floor of my sister's manor. So you'll live. For now."

She stepped back, her blue eyes flaring, as I held my throat gently, gasping and sputtering while I hit the ground. "Dillan!" Valorie said loudly, as I held up my hand to say I was fine. "Faye, stop this! I..... I can't say your my sister anymore if you keep going on like this."

Faye stepped back towards the door, her face contorting in a sour look. "Fine then. Stay with these.... these things. I won't grieve over you when they steal your soul." As she opened the door, Mofe was standing there with a tray of tea and cookies as she was hit in the ribs with the sheathe of Faye's six-foot sword.

She only gave a slight sputtered cough as Faye stormed past her, only faintly whispering 'don't go to sleep tonight, monster.'

Oh, Mofe. Why didn't you react?
