Stephanie's P.O.V
"Please drive faster ! Please !" I screamed in the ambulance car , crying at Michael's side . Blood kept flowing out of his body profusely , causing his white shirt to turn completely into crimson red . I prayed to God while holding his hand and saw something shining at the finger beside his pinky .
Its the exact same ring that he gave me . The one with the two hearts .
I realised that I was not wearing the ring he gave me , so I rummaged my bag , hoping that its there . Phew , it is . I wore it and stared at the hearts . Its pretty . I smile for a while .

~At the hospital~
"Is this Michael Bradley's guardian ?" asked the doctor in charge of him .
"Yes ," I replied .
"About his condition , a lot of his bones are fractured . Shoulder joints , legs , and the most serious part , the ribcage . He lost a lot of blood too . I'm sorry , but his chances of living is less than 20% ."
No way. Why is this happening ? Gosh . I saw the doctor walking professionally out of the ward . I'm alone at the deserted ICU ward . Just then , the door at the other side opened , and one unwanted person appeared - Mila .
"Get out ." Those are the two words that blurted out of my mouth .
"I'm not here to visit him ," Mila said . "I want to talk to you ."
"No" is my immediate reply .
"I never asked you to choose to talk to me or not ," she said . I rolled my eyes . "but once you hear this , you'll be disappointed ."
"Fine . Bring it on ."

I slammed the cubicle door shut , hearing the calls of Mila from the opposite side . I let my body slide down against the wall into a squatting position . The four words kept echoing in my mind . Michael is a bully . Michael is a bully . Michael is a bully . I can't believe that I've just trusted a person I despise , especially when he threw my trust away like garbage . Maybe that's the reason why Mila hated him so much .
I was so stupid. I was fooled by his sweet words which did not come from the bottom of his heart. He must have known that I was bullied and just wanted to step my head. Among all these, I was most disappointed of him being the so-called hero in my life. My attempt on jumping into the river failed because of him. And he did this to me. Its certainly the ultimate betrayal that struck me without me knowing, and this made me realise three things.
Being with him is wrong. Not being with him is also wrong.
And lastly, my entire life is wrong.

I walked along the school hallway. I was aware that people were staring at me. I'm sure they knew what happened to Michael. Well, he is the most popular guy in school, which I'd just realised when I started to know him.
"Hey, do you know that Michael Bradley got into an accident?" "Really? How?" "He was trying to save a girl from knocking to a car" "Whos that girl?" "Her." And they stared at me, realising that I was eavesdropping their conversation. In embarassment, I proceeded walking to my locker with my head facing down to the ground.
I added my textbook into the stacks of books at my locker, ignored the faint whispers and go to the canteen.
After buying the day's menu, which is of course, the world's worst meal ever, I sit at a vacant table, alone. The only thing I'm hoping for is a companion, and my wish was fulfilled.
"May I sit here?" a girl mumbled. I had trouble comprehending her words, but was able to understand it a few moments later. I looked up from my food that doesn't look interesting, to see a much more interesting sight.
Allie Marilyn Stewards. A person I was longing to hug with and just cry out everything about my life adventure without her.
"S-s-sure." I replied with a stutter. Once she was seated, there was an awkward silence. I was drilling my brain to find a topic to talk about, but thankfully, she started to speak.
"Sorry," she said. "I wasn't actually angry at you for such a pathetic matter."
"Then?"
"Well, someone forced me to leave you alone."
"Who?"
"Thats not the case for now. I just want you to know something.
"Michael is dangerous. Stay away from him."
"But-"
"I'm saying this as your best friend, Steph. I want the best for you. Please listen to me, or else..."
"Or else what?" I wasn't scared anymore.
"Mila will-"
"You know what?" I paused to look at her, seeing a curious stare. "I'm ready for anything."

Oh my god. 1k reads! Thank you so much to every single soul that reads my story! Yes, I am aware that I'm the slowest writer to update and stuff, but I'm trying my best to update a.s.a.p. I was actually thinking of leaving this book unfinished, because I'm too busy and kind of lazy to write, but because of this shocking news, I think that its very unfair for me to do so when I achieved something unexpected. And this is story is going to end in a few more chapters anyway, so I thought then that its not a big deal to stop abruptly. But its not right, isnt it?
Wait, I don't think that you are concentrating on the previous sentence and the other half of the second last sentence. You might be thinking - this story is ending soon?!
I'm sorry. But it is planned this way since the moment I started this book. Despite so, I'll ensure a breathtaking ending, plus an epilogue :)
I love you all. I'm not kidding.
