Whatever cliché, drama filled program on the T.V. in front of me was irrelevant compared to the beautiful girl sitting next to me forcing me to watch it. Four days I have spent by her side and I wouldn't have it any other way. Her innocent, almost naive, way of life was refreshing to the thrilling, dangerous, and extravagant life I lead. She lived such a laid-back life- practically polar to mine, it made me question whether or not our coming together was a good idea. This was easily pushed to the back of my head when I looked over at how gorgeous she was. I couldn't help but forget any worry I've ever had when I stare into those entrancing blue eyes. Nothing else mattered.
"Alex?" she asked, her face suddenly turning pink, almost perfectly matching the shade of her lips. I raised my eyebrows as a response, wondering why she was getting bashful. "Umm... I was wondering if you'd be interested in meeting my best friend, Polly. I'm not trying to push you or anything... No rush! It's just-"
"Pipes," I laughed, "Calm down, kid. There is no rush. Actually, my um... coworkers are having a party tonight to celebrate a big win we had. She's welcome to come. That way I can avoid the awkward dinner with questions like, 'Oh, Alex, what do you do? What was your childhood like? Have you always been interested in girls?'" I joked.
"That'd be great! What's the celebration for?" she casually asked.
"Hmm... Well, we had a very large shipment of our product move successfully to its destination without any trouble. Honestly, it's not that big of a deal. It'll just be a couple of my close friends and there will be a lot of drinking. Ha, but that's any party. Just wear something cute," I advise.

We continued to watch Scandal, or that's what I thought it was called, until Piper decided she should go get dressed for the party. It wasn't until then that I realized that Silvy might be there. It's too late to uninvite Piper and her friend, (Molly, was it?) Plus, Piper would probably get offended if I did. I would just have to break the news to Silvy as soon as we arrived.
"Okay, Alex! I'm coming out! Be brutally honest. If I'm not dressed well enough, I can change," Piper said as she walked out of her room across the apartment. My eyes widened as I gawked at her in a tight fitting black, low cut dress. Her curly hair falling just in front of her breasts, which were smaller, but very exposed due to the lack of fabric enclosing them. "Is it that bad? I'll go change," the disappointment evident in her voice. I didn't even realize how long I had been staring.

"No!" she jumped at my outburst. I cleared my throat, "I mean... No, don't change. You look... Well you look sexy as fuck, Pipes. I just couldn't find words." She smiled bashfully and strutted over to me to straddle my lap.
"Oh, really?" she whispered, gently kissing my neck.
"Fuck, yes. Just wait until we get back from the party. That dress will not stay on long... That's all I have to say," I said seductively. Her sigh in my ear guaranteed a silent agreement to my statement. "Now, let me go get ready."

After the taxi ride to my place, I could already tell two things: 1. Polly is annoying and 2. I need a drink. Or maybe ten. Polly (or is Holly? Definitely Holly.) kept asking me the dumb questions that every best friend asks their friend's s.o. Oh, and who could forget the inevitable, 'If you hurt her, I'll come after you!' What are you gonna do? Tweet mean things about me? As soon as we exited the car, Piper's hand was in mine. She gave me a gentle squeeze as if saying it'll all be okay. Maybe she could tell I didn't exactly love her friend, Holly. Despite how much I enjoyed Piper's touch on me, I let go of her hand the second we stepped into my apartment, which was already filled with people- including Silvy. Immediately she found my gaze and I quickly ushered Piper and Holly to the other side of the room.
"Alex, this is way more than a couple of your close friends!" Piper exclaimed, almost looking shy. Holly gave a look of disbelief at the people cluttering my living room, obviously unhappy with the current situation. I couldn't be bothered with her discomfort at the moment though. Instead, I grabbed the nearest wine bottle and took a swig.
"Let me go get you both a drink. Make yourselves at home," I offered, receiving a kiss from Piper and a death glare from Silvy across the room. Shit. I hurried off before they could have a response and made my way towards Silvy. The closer I got, the more I could feel her heated gaze seep through me. "Hey, Sil."
"Don't, 'Hey, Sil' me! Where the Hell have you been, Alex? I haven't seen or heard from you in like, four days!" she called. I shushed her quickly and pulled her out of Piper and Holly's sight. "And who the fuck is that?" She gestured towards Piper with a disgusted look on her face.
"Listen, she's a friend. She kisses everyone she meets. She might be European, I don't know," God, why do I suck at lying? "And I've been doing some business on the side. We might have a big hookup coming soon, babe." Her face was filled with disbelief, but she seemed to let it go.
"Whatever. Aren't you going to introduce me to your new friends?" she asked. Fuck. I nodded and took a bigger drink of my wine. As we made our way over to Piper and her friend, I could feel my palms getting sweaty from nerves.
"So this is Piper and Holly," I started. "Guys, this is Silvy."
"-Alex's girlfriend," Silvy stated, reaching her hand out to Piper.
"My name is actually Polly. With a P! And we were just leaving. Lovely to meet you," Polly said through gritted teeth, grabbing Piper's arm to pull her away. Hurt filled Piper's gaze and I knew I fucked up.
"Don't leave yet! The party just started. Umm... Piper, come help me find more wine," I slurred, beginning to feel the alcohol in my head. Piper thankfully followed me, leaving Silvy and Hol-fuck Polly to awkwardly stand with each other.
"Alex? What the fuck? I thought you were done with her," Piper uttered, barely over a whisper.
"I am. She is just not over it. She's acting out to make me look bad," I lied. "Please don't worry about her. Now here, have some wine." I handed her a glass and poured her some from my bottle. Piper sighed and slowly sipped her wine.
"Please be honest with me, Alex. I believe you. But I can't do this if you are still with her. I can't... I won't," she stated firmly. I nodded in agreement. God, I wish she'd change the subject. Across the room, Fahri was looking at me with a pleased look. "Make a toast" he mouthed, raising his glass of scotch.
"Attention, everyone!" I called, tapping a pencil against my wine bottle. Everyone immediately stopped their conversations and darted their eyes towards me. "I'd just like to say a big congradu-fuck-ulations to everyone that made this possible! We couldn't have done this without all of you beautiful people," I gave a seductive look to Piper. "With-"
"Oh, Alex! Don't be modest!" Silvy interrupted. "Without your sexy and talented self, we would be nothing! You're about as good at dealing as you are in bed. And lord knows you're amazing at that. Isn't that right, Piper?" Everyone's faces dropped and all eyes drew to Piper- who was now cowering behind her wine glass. Fuck.
