Chapter 17: Narthex Showdown

      The portal opens in a colorful world with nothing around them just colors. Narthex was grinning as he outstretched his hands."Ah, my friends. I'm so glad..." Trish held up both of her hands to pause his little speech. "Hold up. What the hell was with all those portals and then mess up our worlds? Like, come on, man!" Nero was upset and crossed his arms while looking at Narthex. "Yeah, what gives?" Narthex blinked at them before he finished his explanation. "So, that way it would be better if I showed you my true self anyway in this world."

     He changed into a half demon and half angel monster. He was taller than any building and bigger than any giant. Nero rubbed his chin while he was seeing Narthex transforming. "Well, that's gone to the extreme doesn't it?" Bayonetta smirked while she wasn't disturbed by it at all. "I was wondering when you came out of that shell sooner. You're way more ugly than your mother I assume. Was her form like this as well?" Narthex sighed deeply as he poured a bit. "Yes, she was, but more deformed."

      Dante smirked while he fixed his gloves and shook his head. "Damn. Wow, you just spilled the beans." Nero grinned at him with a slight chuckle. "Exactly." Jeanne thinks for a little second while walking around. "If we defeat you, we go home." Narthex nodded his head with determination and confidence. "Yes, but right now, I'm going to kill you all." He slammed his fist into the ground and the team jumped over the radius of the blow. Bayonetta looked up to Narthex while asking him a question. "And what do you plan to do with us then?" Narthex was a bit frustrated and spoke rageful towards them. "First, I kill you, disrupt your planets, and then I become king of the world!" He yelled and angels and demons came out of his mouth.

     Trish was grossed out as she winced at the sight of it. "Okay, that's disgusting." Nero was determined and serious. "Let's kill them!" Bayonetta started break dancing with a whole lot of bullets flying around. Dante went into his devil trigger mode. He shot all the demons with his guns. Nero used his devil trigger as well and grabbed one of the angels by the mouth. He punched the angel so hard, that it went into an invisible wall. Trish used her lightning power and sliced the angels in half. Narthex was pissed off with utter rage.

     Narthex looked down at the small group with anger. "Why are you hurting my friends?" Dante spoke to Narthex while he stated why he was tired of them. "Your friends are annoying and you're going to die here one way or another." Narthex was furious at his backtalk. "Despicable peasants!" He grabbed Bayonetta and ground pounded Dante, Nero, Trish and Jeanne. Bayonetta grunted in pain from his large hand as he was squeezing her. "Ah!" Narthex spoke to her with an evil grin. "Do you feel my pain, Bayonetta?" Bayonetta struggled as she coughed a bit. "Does it involve your crooked, yellow teeth? Have you ever considered brushing them twice a day?" Narthex chuckled and bellowed in laughter at her. "Very funny, witch. You amuse me."

     Bayonetta nodded her head as she struggled some more. "Thank you. Much appreciated. You're squeezing me too tight." Narthex grinned down at her as he was trying to flirt with her. "You are amazing, love and I won't stop hurting you because I need you in my life." Bayonetta frowned at that while she straightened her glasses. "Sod off." Narthex shook his head in denial as he spoke to her. "No, no no. I need you as my friend." Bayonetta was a bit angry as she fiercely looked at him. "You already have friends and I will never be your friend!" She wicked weaved punched him in the face and he lets go of her. Bayonetta landed on her feet.

       Bayonetta was determined as she got ready to take him down. "Narthex, you are the most pathetic, annoying and hideous villian I have ever met in my life. I will erase you completely and it will end here." Narthex winced about her confidence while he had a large smile on his face, not believing her. "Ooh, I hardly doubt that, love." Bayonetta raised her right eyebrow as she tested him. "You sure about that?" She snapped her fingers and her hair became longer. Bayonetta started to pose with flair and style. "Let's rock, baby!" She had her Scarborough Fair guns ready and started firing at Narthex.

       Dante woke up and saw Bayonetta fighting Narthex as he went up to help her. Bayonetta was a bit surprised to see him as she was dealing with Narthex. "Dante, happy for you to join me." Dante scoffed a bit while he grinned at her as he prepared himself. "Yeah, well I can't let a beautiful witch like you take all the fun away. Bayonetta used her shielding to block Narthex's attack. "Alright. Where are the others?" Dante was honest with his answer towards her. "Still hit from the impact. It's just you and me, now." Bayonetta was confident about them defeating Narthex. "Wonderful." Dante got serious as he looked straight towards Narthex. "Time to get to work."

     Dante used his Ivory and Ebony to shoot at Narthex's ankles. Dante used his sword Rebellion to slice his legs and his ankles. Narthex grunted at his legs and ankles getting slashed. "Ow! Curses!" Narthex and Bayonetta started punching each other. Bayonetta used her wicked weaves to punch him and it was working. Dante grabbed Narthex's ankle and spun him around. Narthex's head was hit against the wall. Bayonetta smirked at Narthex. "So long, Narthex. Dante, I'm going to need your help. Follow my words and my lead." She whispered the words to him. Dante nodded his head towards her. "Okay."

     Suddenly, Dante and Bayonetta were dancing together while glowing purple and red. They both said the Climax summon "A GRAA ORS...TABAORD... AVAVAGO!" They ended the summoning on a spin and dip move. The summon appeared to be a mixture between Queen Sheba, the Devil Trigger, and Jubileus with the power of Bayonetta and Eva, Dante's mother. Bayonetta blew a kiss and Dante sliced it and they both launched it at Narthex. The kiss marked turned into flames and it hit Narthex cheek.

        He yelled in severe pain as he started to decompose. Narthex yelled in agony. "Ahh! Nooo!" Narthex then exploded into star dust and Bayonetta and Dante looked at the residue. Bayonetta smirked as she looked at the remains of Narthex. "He's gone." Dante nodded his head. "Yes, he is." They both smiled at each other and hugged. Jeanne woke up as she groaned a bit in pain. "What just happened?" Bayonetta spoke the truth as she grinned. "Jeanne, it's okay now. He's gone." Nero was a bit surprised. "Did I just hear that Narthex is gone?"
Trish nodded her head as she was confident. "That's indeed what you heard, Nero." They heard two portals open. One was purple and the other was ruby crimson red.

     Dante realized that those two portals were their home portals. "I'm guessing the red means our world and the purple means your world." Jeanne nodded her head with confirmation, knowing that it is. "Yes. Correct." Trish sighed deeply as she waved at the team. "Right, well. See ya." She went into the red portal. Bayonetta grinned as she watched her leave first. "Bye, Trish." Jeanne was also saying goodbye to the others. "I'll see you there, Bayonetta at our apartment. Bye, Nero and Dante." Nero smiled as he waved at Jeanne. "Take it easy, Jeanne. Bye, Bayonetta. It was nice hanging out with you." Bayonetta smirked with kindness. "Same goes to you, Nero." She kissed Nero on the cheek and Nero walks away into the red portal.

     Dante cleared his throat before turning to Bayonetta with a smile. "I guess we're next." Bayonetta nodded her head with her hands up on her curvaceous hips. "Guess so." Dante looked into Bayonetta's eyes while he spoke with charm. "I hope we see each other again." Bayonetta was confident that they will. "Me too, Dante. Maybe we'll have time to do pillow talk again soon." Dante chuckled softly as he winked at her. "Right up your alley." Bayonetta smirked at him as she fixed his white hair. "You naughty, naughty man." Dante examined her face while he grinned. "You naughty witch."

     They both kissed for the longest and then Nero's hand reached out of the portal and grabbed Dante's red leather jacket as he pulled him in the portal. Bayonetta took out a lollipop to replenish her magic with a grin. "Good bye, Dante." She sashays into the portal as it closes behind her.
